Default Boosed cars, stock internals?

I noticed most boosted cars here run on stock internals. why is that? Is it that the stock internals are strong as they are, or is it to expensive to work the internals.

Just wondering

thanks guys

Im running stock because I new it would take it for a while so I could build my new motor which is coming soon. then I want to push it a bit, and get some single diget time slips!!

Way back when, before Vortech, Turbo tech, and Incon, there were a lot of people saying that LS1 pistons would quickly fail under boost.

Because of that, a lot of us early FI people went into it with the understanding that when the engine blew, the internals would be replaced by better stuff. I think the reason is that the stock internals are lasting. You don't see many at all that have died due to power. Its all from tuning...and bad tuning will kill a built engine just as quickly.

Nowadays people are seeing the power you can get stock, and see no need for that extra cost, and don't even plan for it.

The only exceptions are the ones who want huge power immediately, and there are very few of those. Most start off with a conservative level, and just keep upping power over time.

Both of my blower cars have completely stock internals.

Why?

1. I'm broke after buying the cars and blowers themselves, thus leaving no $$$ for engine mods.

2. I'm running the "stock" pullies with good tuning, so no need to step up the internals.

3. I'm not shooting to run 9's or something extreme. For now, I'm happy with mid-high 11 sec. cars.

The cars seem to run good with stock internals. If you keep it under 9lbs of boost then you may never have problems.

As long as you don't try and push it, you will be alright..........

Get greedy with the boost, have the cash ready for the brand new motor............

Make no mistakes otherwise your costing yourself a lot of downtime, trust me.....

its all about the benjamin's $$

and for the rich people, they'd rather pull a blown apart stock motor out than a perfectly good one
