Another freaking build to watch! Man, what do you guys do out there to just keep building sick *** rides?
Ya'll are making me get the "crackhead itch" to turbo my car. I just don't want to be down for so long.

We do most of our own work, which helps keep the cost down and we are all friends and share info and r&d with each other which helps a lot, that and there is a lot of guys down here with fast **** and it keeps pushing all of us to step it up and go faster, we feed off each other and keep taking it to the next level, we have a real good group of guys down here, and we're not afraid to take on some projects! 3 or 4 years ago I was the fastest ls guy around here on nitrous running 9.40's, I didn't change my setup too much, just little tweaks and got to 9.0's, but in that time, quite a few guys surpassed me and got into the 8's and now steve in the 7's. When my rings let go, I decided it's now time to step it up and build a turbo setup and am hoping to join steve in the 7's when she's all done, but if I see a low 8, I'd be happy. As I start getting more parts rolling in, I'll post up a build thread for mine as well, mine is going to take much longer though, I have a lot more to do and am getting a little more involved with it and I can only go as fast as I can get the money in.

I'm in the same boat I can only go as fast as my money comes in. I have a whole ls3 motor motor just like bonnar and want to get it on the nitrous for right now and build an lsx just like ls2formula did and use the twin turbo kit from modular turbo.

It does cut down on some time, but its really not that huge of a deal. I know some people will try to lynch me for saying that, but most dont have the experience with an AEM/MegaSquirt/Halltech/ to know that all the 'data' isnt even used. Just battery offsets, which are somewhat linear.
Usually if its some no name injector, i start off with a similar style injector data, ie RC 1200 etc etc. Then run the car without an alternator to reduce the voltage. once I have 10.9vs and 13volts the plot the rest of the data.
Also having the 'wrong' injector battery offset wont kill your motor, your tune will be 'off' depending on who you ask. just different ways to skin a cat imo

from my personal perspective, the injector data is not that big of a deal on an aftermarket computer that doesn't calculate airflow dynamic models like the factory computer to determine the injector pulse width needed.

got some work done tonite, took the a/c case out, drop the engine to put the turbo k-member in took the wiring harness out to make so mods to it, took the brake lines off to make new ones, week and a half left at ls2formula's house and off to the dave's for the turbo fab!!!!

^^^ are you going to make braided brake lines all the way from the abs module to each caliper ?
i was thinking of doing that, but some people steered me away from it when they started saying that the ss braided line will give you a softer brake feel vs the stock metal hard line

Great build going on. Subscribed
I think you will be very very happy with the results on just 8psi boost. You already have a stout motor. Adding 8 psi is only gonna make it more fun My 401 sbc never ran n/a, but on 8psi or so, it probably will trap 128-130. It goes 134-135 on a good day on 10 psi. At 14 it went 141 on a good day and its not even 100% tuned yet. Roughly 6 more psi and 12mph more. You have a heck of alot more motor to start with so I'm gonna guess that car will go mid lower 9's at 145 on 7-8 psi. Just a guess.
i hope so, we are trying to figure out how much i'll pick up on 7-8lbs of boost
it should be fun!!!!!
