Default Bigger wastegate recomendations?

Have a tial 38 now.. its too small. 10psi spring making 11 and the boost is going crazy when I try and turn it up.. bouncing up and down. Anyone have a recomendation for a bigger wastegate that will bolt in just like the 38? I dont wanna change the flange if i can avoid it.

I believe the JGS40mm will bolt right up.

You can pretty much forget about getting something bigger that will bolt up that will make much of a difference. Might as well just bite the bullet and get a Tial 44 or 46 and do it once, do it right. The Precision 46 is a reallly nice piece as well. It comes with all the springs you could ever need, vbands, flanges, everything, and it's cheaper than the Tials.

I swtiched from tial 38s to turbosmart 45s. Had to cut all the 1.5" piping and weld in new pipe. 1 7/8" inlet and 1 3/4" outlet if I recall correct.

Change to flange with the valve and the flange at the same time. Better to do it right the first time and it not really that much more work. PTE offers a 45mm pretty reasonable.

The WG is still holding 11 and it doesnt creep. I dont understand how it could be a waste gate issue if i cant turn it up? Anyone care to explain for me.

If the 38 is holding 11 psi then it is doing its job. You probably have something else going on. More details on the car/powerplant/boost controller?

You COULD just be opening the wastegate with the exhaust back pressure causing it to fluctuate. If you have a spare heavier spring lying around you could try that as well.

Thing is, i didnt have an issue before with a much less efficiant exhaust wheel. I am sure my back pressure was much higher. With this new turbo its flowing much better I dont see how that could be the issue. I am going to try and the new MBC and report back.

Usually when the WG is too small youll have issues at lower boost levels..it should be more stable the higher you go in boost..
