It's amazing that that little rubberband can keep timing. Sick setup. When do you guys anticipate having some track numbers?

A month or so...That distributor is soo much better than COP with the BS3 its not even funny. We can run the plugs down to .012 and they fire like a champ.

Is that disty setup plug and play with the cover and all that or is machining required to get everythinng right? What are you firing the plugs with?

MSD 8plus, you need to machine the block for the Jesel belt drive. We run more compression than you'd think, if we could get it to keep all 8 lit down track, its going to be INSANELY fast. We went 7.2s on 7 cylinders, dropped one right at 4.7 seconds on a 4.82 1/8 mile.

Gotcha. How could you tell precisely when you dropped the plug? Are you just coming to that conclusion based on other data from your log or does the MSD actually tell you some kind of trouble code?

We've got 8 EGTs on the headers, We can tell exactly when they go cold. They drop 1000 degrees very quickly. We usually have to pull plugs every other round.

I was talking to Steve about upgrading his BS3 so that we can acquire some more data. It would cost a little over $2K (on top of the $2k he's already got in it) to upgrade to all the additional stuff and the car wont go any faster.. But I want to be able to seeeeeee.

do more research...there's a way to monitor 8 EGTs for less than 900 dollars

EGT's are just one of the things that we want to monitor. Would like to add the DS speed, oil pressure, 2nd wideband, etc. Are you talking about something seperate from the BS3? It's nice to have it all on one graph and since it's not my money.......

I'm talking about egt separate of BS3. its a ripoff for how much it is to add some of that to BS3.

The EGT system I'm looking at can provide a 12V output if EGT exceeds a certain threshold. can use that into a relay in reverse to kill ign as a safety.

DS speed can be added with the optional 3-step/ETM upgrade.

I've gotta know now. How much compression do you run?
