Time for a 4L80e or a TH400.

I've heard of guys running a pull out 4L80E from the HD vans or trucks stock with just a converter. They can handle a decent ammount stock.

I will have to run a stand alone tcm to control it electronically, or go full manual valve body

nothing wrong with either choice IMO. Id choose the full maual valve body myself. But thats just me. Then again, id probably go with a TH400 over the 4l80e. But again, thats jsut me.

im not sure on price, but i can tell you, I personally wont build another 60e, i have a built one in my car, and one that needs a rebuild sitting in a box on the floor.

when the one in my car starts slipping, its on to a th400.

well its back up and running, with a few extra goody's add on, I built the tranny my self put any and everything in it except billet shafts, pro yank 3400 converter, 1 7/8 headers 1 piece drive shaft, mt 265 40 18 radials. I have never had it to the track with the blower on the car before the tranny let go, back when it was all stock drive train no headers and street tires on a back road and just going of the tenths on my odometer 0.25 i trapped 127, now with the headers and stall i have it 134, This is on the street so yes i now its not a perfect mph for the car but should be damn close. shooting for the 10s on 100% stock engine!!
