Chris Alston Chassisworks Blower Gear Drive
I thought I would share this seperate from my build thread for my 1969 Camaro 410" LSx motor. Its Chassisworks new gear drive for LS based blower motors. Its the first LSx one he has built and will be used on the 410" motor in my 69 Camaro. Attached to the gear drive is the motor plate he build for me as well. If you have any questions let me know.

I ve got a f1r with the 75 mm cog drive.....and cant figure out why you would pay 3400$ to fix something that isn t broke.....? Whats wrong with bolting a cog pulley to the crank and putting a belt on?
I cant even figure exactly whats going on by looking at the picture though. It looks like there are a bunch of places for machining, fitment and hardware errors that could bring all new problems. What am I missing?

Do you run this in a F-Body chassis? Pics?

To each their own. The short answer is because I can and this is what I prefer to do. I think there are more pros to running a gear drive and the people I've consulted with could care less whether I run one or not. However, given their track records and level of knowledge it was a no brainer and they have a vested interest in our programs being successful. This is just my street/strip car anyways and an opportunity to test some stuff for the Drag Radial car we are building.

1.The side load the belt produces is hard on the crank and the supercharger gearbox.
2. The belt never breaks on a geardrive.
3. The belt never strips the teeth on a geardrive.
4. The blower can be run faster with a geardrive.
5. It takes less power away from the engine with a geardrive.
6. More gear ratios available with a geardrive.
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head!

I've gone through so many $80 belts trying to get my cog drive ironed out that I've lost count. It is pretty close now though. I'd like to see you go with the F2. I saw an F3R Procharged Mustang take out all three of the Ohio Boys at Kilkare once. I'd like to see some blown cars in outlaw drag radial, none of that turbo staging game, just nail it and be gone. Once one guy did it many would follow.

I am building a 427 with the F3 blower/geardrive now and it sure seems like it would be easier for staging and racing, will be interesting to see how it performs in the car. Not much difference in cost and should be way better for the torque converter not "spooling" the thing up when staging.
