Default Trex cam + boost results

For all of you who wanted to know how well the trex cam (242-248 110 lsa) works with boost here are the results copied from the dyno section. Obviously far from ideal, anyone have any ideas how well the GTO procharger d1sc tension system works?

Sorry almost forgot, stock bottom end LS1 2004 M6 GTO

This is a friend of mine's car we just got everything all together to make a few pulls and take it to the track. I tuned the car with the procharger setup but I didn't do the previous N/A tune. Stock bottom end LS1.

Naturally aspirated mods
Trex cam 242-248 110 LSA (Not even close to a boost cam)
Fast 90 intake
New Era CAI
Pacesetter headers with stock exhaust
LS7 Clutch

New mods
D1sc procharger 9-10 psi (hard to make boost with 25 degrees of overlap)
LS6 intake with ported t/b
Devils Own methanol kit
Magnaflow exhaust with no cats
3.91 gears and aluminum driveshaft
60lb injectors with single walbro, need another one
2 Bar SD tune

Look how much torque it gained at 3000 rpm! 500 rwtq from 4800-5900 rpm, thats a Trex cam for ya lol. Now we all know this is not the right cam at all, he will be building a 408 in the near future built for boost. This was just to see what we could do with the LS1.

With a better 60' we will have his car in the 10's soon. Best pass so far is a 11.32 @ 126 with a 1.74 60'. 2200' elevation and 3000' density altitude.

Nice. I'll bet that you wouldnt gain much from a cam swap on that setup.

You don't think it would gain much? We are running a 7.250" crank pulley and a 3.4" blower pulley. Around 7000 rpm this should max a d1sc around 62,000 rpm. Either the cam is bleeding off a ton of boost as others seem to make 15-18 psi with a 7.25/3.4 combo or the belt is slipping huge. We are only seeing 150-168 kpa and our barometric kpa is 95.

That overlap is bleeding off A LOT of boost lol. I run a 7.25 crank and a 3.7 blower on said motor in sig and see 10ish psi lol. Nice numbers on a N/A cam. Must sound sick!...any idle vids?

The car has 2.5" dual magnaflow setup and honestly you'd never guess it has Trex cam in it. It used to sound like a monster with the stock 04 gto exhaust but the magnaflow really quieted it down. I will have to get an idle clip next time I see him, the thing is unreal loud when he gets on it though. It's one of the loudest cars with mufflers on it that I've ever heard, it sounds amazing haha.

Update, this pig just ran 10.70 @ 129 mph with a 1.49 60'. Density Altitude: 4298 feet
and only 9lbs of boost with 11-12 degrees of timing. It still has more in it but the damn meth works when it wants to. Luckily I had a lot of safety factors tuned in the car incase the meth failed it wouldn't blow the stock motor.

If that was an auto car, it would love a 4000-4400 stall.

1.49 60'? What converter and drivetrain/wheels/tires?

No way that you are bleeding off 5 psi because of the cam. It's not possible. DA on the other hand could account for a few psi. Overlap and blowers works great as long as the exhaust is not restrictive.

Heres another 'non-boost cam' combo.

He has some TSW 19" wheels up front (heavy) and runs 26x11.5-16 ET street on the rear with some ghetto 8.5 wide corvette wheels from the early 90's. It is a manual car with an LS7 clutch, he has the best ls7 clutch I've ever seen as my LS7 clutch is a POS and I am making way less power. He has a driveshaft shop 3.5" 1 piece driveline, 3.91 gears, harrop differential cover, slp sway bar and few extra axles since he likes to break those haha. The car is full weight with nothing removed except the front bumper support so the POS procharger intercooler can breath. I think he is getting belt slip, he made the same boost with the 3.8" pulley as he does with the 3.4".

As far as a sound clip it's not radical sounding, you cannot even tell it has a big cam at all with the dual 2.5" magnaflow setup. It sounds insane when he gets on it though, very loud. Next time I go over I will get a sound clip though.
