Default Need ASAP! Fluidampr 740102

Just picked up an F1A setup.. Didn't realize I needed another dampner to install the Procharger crank pulley. Let me know of you guys have one laying around, or know somewhere they're still in stock.

I don't think the Fluidampr is made any longer. You want the ATI balancer - get with Bob at Brutespeed.

Thanks, but hopefully he can find a Fluidampr so he doesn't have to buy a new ProCharger crank pulley, as his must be for the Fluidampr.

SDPC is out of stock. I've found one on eBay listed as the correct part number, but they're also saying it's 10% underdrive as well. Going to do more research when I get home.

Do you know for sure that your ProCharger crank pulley was designed for the Fluidampr 740102? It may be designed for the ATI Performance Products 918853, which is what ProCharger went to after Fluidampr announced they were eliminating the 740102. What part number is on the crank pulley? Bob

I am new to this forum. My name is Ivan and i work for the manufacturer Fluidampr. We are still around and i am more than happy to assist you. Although we do not manufacture aluminum dampers any longer I do have aluminum 7 1/4 Fluidampers (part#720102) for the LS1 in stock. These are a 10% underdrive. Feel free to contact me at 716-592-1000. Fluidampr performance dampers invented viscous dampers in 1946 and thanks to the aquistion by Horschel Motorsports and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the company is going strong and doing better than ever. Fluidampr is 100% made in the USA! Dont be fooled by cheap chinese imitations commonly spelled Fluidamper or Fluid Damper!

Keep America at work!

Called the Procharger tech line.. They pretty much told me what I already knew. They didn't have any idea where to find the old style Fluidampr.. However he did say the ATI Super Damper 918853 would work perfectly with my Procharger crank pulley, part number DC033A-081.

Bob, do you know of another crank pulley part number that's supposed to be used with the ATI Super Damper? I'd like to compare the two parts and see what the difference is. Procharger is saying I don't need one, but you're the man when it comes to installs, so I honestly put more faith in you! Haha

DC033A-082 is the part number that Lance (who is no longer at ProCharger) at ProCharger came up with when ProCharger was notified that the Fluidampr 740102 balancer was being discontinued. I can't say for sure that the 918853 balancer would not work with your DC033A-081, but if it would, why did Lance have to create a new part number? Bob

Does anyone know anything about the Fluidampr 740111?

I talked to a company last night who supposedly had one 740102 left in stock. I went ahead and ordered the thing, even though they really stuck it to me on pricing. I got a shipping invoice this morning saying they shipped part number 740111.

I called, evidently this was the part number that replaced the 740102. It looks the same, and has identical outside dimensions. I am unsure of the inside dimensions where the Procharger pulley would mount, Im currently researching that. Only difference I can find, this new balancer is steel rather than aluminum.

They guy where I ordered the thing says when they are given a new part number for an item, they go ahead and switch everything in their warehouse. Since the item has already shipped, he doesnt know if Im getting the 740102 aluminum or the 740111 steel. Im not really sure what to do.. I know if the thing is steel, they owe me some money.. I can get the new part number $80 cheaper shipped to my door through Summit.

Anyone got a phone number for Fluidampr.. Their site seems to be down?

Thanks for posting! For some reason I cannot get their site to load on my computer, but it comes up fine on my phone. I got drawings of both balancers sent over to me this afternoon..

The all steel setup that supposedly is a directly replacement for the 740102 is defintely not a direct replacement. Theyre close, but not the same. The recessed area on the front of the balancer is not as deep as the older style, which will push any accessories added to the balancer out .080 further than they should be. I thought about milling down my Procharger pulley, but about the time I started thinking like that, I realized the bores were different sizes.

I figured all LSx crank snouts were the same size.. Evidently not!
