I wanted to post about the benefits of the forums, and how taking the time to make this particular thread has helped so many folks....myself being one of them. I actually printed this out on paper back in 2013, and my first turbo hot-side followed the one presented in this thread very closely. I still have the printed copy, and It's covered in notes I made when doing the project. If you look at many of the photos in my build thread for my Firebird, you'll see how much inspiration I took from the photos in this thread. I have since reworked my turbo setup, but this thread still means a lot to me. Thank you for doing it for all of us.

Hi guys, my buddy who does welding, will weld up my factory truck exhaust manifolds flipped upside down & forward for my twin s366 turbos going into my 72 nova. These exhaust tube extensions will be like 6 to 8 inch long with v bands welded on to the ends. Then I have 90 degree elbows that have wastegate bung mounts & T4 flanges to bolt the turbos to on them. His big worry is what type of wire to use welding the much thinner exhaust tubing 2.5 or 3 inch to the much thicker factory cast steel exhaust manifolds. He doesnt think it will b e a very strong bond here cause of the different thicknesses. He thinks it may not support my 30 lbs each T4 s366 turbos. He is also worried about the heat range too. Hot enough to weld it, but if too hot may blow thru the thinner exhaust tubing. Anyone with actual experience here on what wire to use and who has actually done this please chime in! Great thread guys! Thanks! Bob
