Default 8 rib ATI kits - quick update

I checked with ATI this morning to see how they are doing with the 8 rib D-1SC kits. I was told that they should be available in a few weeks but they also pointed out that they have been saying a few weeks for a few months The kit is still going through testing so I think it might be a little while before we see this in production.

I'll post more updates as I receive them.

Tom

Yea, because they are having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to make the belts stop slipping probably, because of the crappy tensioner, and the crappy bracket that will flex with any sort of power thrown at it..........

Got to love ATI..........

Jason Escher (formerly of ATI, formerly of Golden West Performance, now Automotion Performance) fixed that issue for me with his steel bracket.

I regularly see 14 PSI now, on a 6-rib MMS pulley. I've gotta upgrade my Fuel System or go back to a larger SC pulley. 12 PSI was about all my system would handle with that 422.

I still need their 8-rib kit, though, so I can use my ATI Perf Prod Super Damper and LS1 Crank Pin Kit, so I can keep that bolt from backing out.

I just know I don't have boost drop any more... at least from what I've been able to do on the street.

Automotion Performance / Jason Esher
303-670-5011

$180.00

This piece is EXACTLY like the original in dimensions... no fitment problem.

If you are ATI and run high boost, I'd consider it a must-have.
It got rid of the idler pulley contacting the bracket.

Another thing about the aluminum bracket; loosening and tightening that idler pulley bolt creates depressions in the aluminum in the areas you tighten as your belt needs adjusting. This makes part of the outer circumference of the idler closer to the bracket than another part, because at certain worn spots, the idler shaft is not perfectly perpendicular to the bracket.

I haven't broken or thrown a single belt since I installed it.

Yep... a must-have, in my book.
