Default forged ls1 vs forged lq4

stuck between the two. but what would be the main difference if any at all between the two. the ls1 is basically a iron 5.3 with forged internals. but other than price will i notice a difference with performance?

so you are stuck between building an IRON ls1 or lq4???

if so, they are the same, except displacement, when talking about building them from scratch.

STOCK/Factory,

ls1= 346 ci aluminum
lq4= 364 ci iron

I may have misunderstood your question, i was assuming you didnt know that an "LS1" is aluminum. maybe you do. But then, outlawz is correct.

fwiw there is no such thing as a "iron LS1". They were all aluminum blocks. You probably meant LS motor. Architecture wise, the LS motors are all the same 5.3/LS1/6.0..... I would choose the 364ci LQ4 personally. More cubes is never a bad thing, especially out of boost.

Still doesnt change the fact that there is no such thing as an "iron LS1". Am I misunderstanding what you are saying?

You can use an LS1 rotating assembly in a 5.3 and essentially have an "IRON LS1". Not sure if thats what he is talking about though.

No you essentially have a 5.3 block with the parts and diplacement of an LS1.... It's not a iron LS1 in any way. End of rant.
