The 317 heads will get you down to around 9.4 to 1 if you use a stock thickness head gasket. Stock thickness is about .052 compressed. Be sure to use a MLS style head gasket and it will need to be for the 6.0 open chamber heads.

So I can't use stock ls1 style head gaskets if I'm using 317s? What if I want my compression even lower then a 9.4?
