I'll be interested to see what they have to say about it. It is interesting it completely froze up like that without any contact.

The upgrade is 699. Unit will make about 100-150+rwhp more depending on your setup.

you got a brand new turbo if i remember correctly. they fixed the old one a bunch of times and it didnt work right so i got a new one from them. glad its running good.

ps, i had a good pcv setup with a ton of pull up top. i think that helps with the draining.

Well if they dont warranty it its going to you. Would the price be the same for my seized up turbo? Like I said..no contact on either side..just frozen.

I vented the rear of the drivers side valve cover
The ls6 valley cover
And the two barb fittings on the driver side as well as the oil cap open with a filter on top

Maybe i shoulda hooked it up the the inlet of the turbo to pull a vacuum on it under boost, but i figured venting it would be good enough...

Anyways, thats an awsome deal for the 91 setup, but hopefully precision repairs your turbo for free

More then likely the backplate collar and backplate itself have fused together. PTE should take care of it.

You talking about the exh side (iron) or intake (aluminum)? I don't know the name of the parts, just what they look like. I had to replace the shield looking thing that goes between the turbine/shaft and the center cartridge thing. The old one was falling apart and loosing little tiny pieces that hit a couple of the turbine blades on the way out.

The exhaust side is the dust/heat shield. I was talking about the aluminum/intake side. Yeah the heat shield will corrode with time......with an alky motor it real gets killed quick due to so much water.

DrTurbo..do you have any pics of the 91mm upgrade? I might send it to you anyways to have the upgrade done. Would my LS2 be capable of 1000whp with this mod done to the turbo?

I notice it has a 5" inlet but no surge housing, just empty space. Would it be possible to get it with a 4" inlet so I could fit my filter on it??

I think MIGHTYMOUSE inquired about that. He was told there wasn't enough material to machine the 5" inlet down to a 4" inlet IIRC.

From my understanding there was no other cover when David converted over (or he would have used it). I'd PM him/Jose and confirm that and see if anything has changed since.
