Possible causes of seized PT88...?
The other night after a nice 2nd-4th pull at 15psi I drove the car about 2 miles(after the pull) to a gas station, waited 10 seconds and shut the car off...I got back in the car about 10 min later and left and as I was leaving I floored it and there was 0 boost..long story short the turbo seized solid. The setup has been on the car untouched for about 5k miles and the oil is changed every 1500 miles. I pulled the feed line off, put it into a bottle and started the car. The bottle was almost filled in less than 5 seconds so I know its not an oiling issue. The car never acted funny and this just came out of nowhere. My turbo feed line is about 70" long and I have a -10an return line. The car has never smoked in or out of boost and there were no warning signs..any ideas on how this could of happened?

i had that happen to me twice. just took it out for a little easy spin up the road and it locked up. my opinion..those turbos are junk.
prcision told me it was from oil starvation and i needed a bigger feed. i guess a -4 feed and -10 drain was not big enough. then they told me it was cause my 364cu motor was too big for that turbo and that the pt88 was designed for buick grand national guys with V6s.

So, Snyper and/or CJG, did you guys try taking your turbos apart to see for yourselves what happened? These things are super simple inside. Should be able to figure out the failure in no time. I rebuilt mine recently as it's almost 10 years old and it was a piece of cake. Cost me less than 100 bucks. Hardest thing was getting the exh housing off but now I know the trick.

If it was an oil starvation issue im pretty sure I would of figured this out thousands of miles ago..not all the sudden..and as for pushing it too hard, I was at 15psi which is hardly working the turbo.
