Hey Guys, im looking to go a similar route in my 99 Z51 Vette.
6.0L Block, forged pistons/rods, stock crank. Are you guys studding your mains? I was hoping i could retain the main bolt setup to avoid having to line hone the block. Intend on using 4.005 pistons to hone to fit, and then studding some cleaned up stock heads on.

none taken, but i did say car in op, and did not care what car heavier or not.. was trying to get a idea where i stood.. i understand my fox is lighter but not a second lighter to where i could not judge based on others with same combo.. and i did stat if u had aftermarker rods or pistons u may post as well.. main thing was stock crank and heads and single turbo comparison..

I went 10.001 @135 in zombiess car. Its a 370, untouched 317's, z06 cam, stock intake, stock tb, stock crank, Rods and pistons with about 8.8 compression. It runs a rear mounted sx 80 from forced inductions. It weighed 3890, da was around 3500 ft. 2.75 gears, on drag radials.

Ill let you know as soon as i get myself to the track. Ive got a 5.3 with a TC76 and completely stock motor except for an LS6 cam. Ive got a computer controlled 4L80E though, but still an 89 Foxbody

I have been 10.00 at 134.xx letting up before the stripe to have a legal timeslip to turn in. This was on drag week at milan, and the same at the 3 other tracks.
car is 3850 lbs. with fuel and me on the track scale, high 1.4 to low 1.5 sixtys, off the foot brake, spraying 100 shot for .6 seconds on launch to spool the twin sc61 turbos. thru a 4l80e and a lockup convertor.
Long block is all stock 100,000 mile 6.0 with only a z06 cam,comp pushrods, and patriot gold extremes. We have log type home made manifolds on this car. No intercooler with e85. normally run 13 to 15 lbs. boost, but have mistakenly hit it with 23 lbs on the Interstate driving to our local track(She pulled like crazy before it hit the over boost protection on the Megasquirt)
They don't last forever tho. We broke a ringland on the last pass at National Trail, in Ohio. when it went to 13s AFR@13 lbs boost. Because of a dirty fuel filter number 7 broke. Unhooked that cyl. and drove the car over 150 miles like that to the next track.
We left number 7 unhooked, and no spray, easy off the line. ran a low 13 at 128 MPH to get a time to turn in.
Then we really broke it.
Hooked it all back up, and sprayed out of the hole, the shift to second gear made the number 7 piston dissappear. but the engine minus the top end aftermarket stuff was only about 800 dollars. so no big deal.
That was last year, this year we have Mike's car, same deal, stock 6.0 90,000 mile zo6 cam, trickflow pushrods, patriot gold extremes,PG with brake, and PT88 turbo. Stock manifolds flipped forward merged to the turbo, and no intercooler.
have not weighed the car yet but we guess 3200, has gone 6.21 at 115 in the 1/8th and 9.74 at 126 shuting off after 1000' for some reason. this was 12 to 13 lbs boost, on e85. The time on that run at 1000' foot was 8.0 flat.

still working on the sixties, best of 1.50 so we are thinking it will go 9.40s in the quarter. without leaning on it, Yet.
Need more data??
So a car with forged pistons, etc. should be able to run really fast without worry. Because we have abused the stock pistons to mid nines,and the aftermarket's should be stronger.

well got my conv swaped back in after a tighten up also installed a ams 500.. so plan to run a 275 race friday.. make a few test hits try to get a baseline and then turn it up would love to see some 5.50-60's this time out..

I looked at the build pics you have,and that is a nice car you built there.
The timing is 18 degrees on e85, probably a bit conservative but these are stock pistons.
We are hoping to make it to 8.99 before the stock pistons give up, or anything else.
These may not be unreal goals, considering our fairmont went 6.00 in the eight three times before the 5.99 we stopped at. That mp70 was maxed out, and that car was far from perfectly set-up.
At least it will be fun trying to get there. Good luck with your car.

Ive been 9.50@147 with a stock 6.0 with just valvesprings(cleaned up 317"s) rod bolts and a camshaft- stock pistons/rods and crank
In the zephyr I have diamond pistons,callies rods and a stock crank and ive been 9.25@148 and 5.92@118 on 275 radials and only 15psi..... I plan to go for around 20 here shortly.
keep in mind the engine I am talking about is only 8.85-1 so 15 psi is a cake walk.
124 to the 1/8 is hauling good for sure!

wow really sweet, but have to assume it was a lsx style block 6 bolt head set-up? to produce that time i would also assume u would be beyond the worries of 20lb boost head lifting issues u would see on a none 6bolt set-up.. so what did it boost and was it a typical stock 6.0 block or not?
