First, what is the make/brand of that turbo? I would use a better turbo like precision or turbonetics. If that is a ebay turbo i would try and stay away from those, they are nothing but junk. As for the cam the duration is low compared to a proven turbo cam. Also what boost level and power level are you looking to reach? It sounds like your on a budget. I would do alot of research on here, there is alot of useful information.

But they do work. Guys running really fast with them.

OP, that cam is too small. You can go into the low 230's duration without a problem. I'd try to keep lift just under .600.

I no of a lot of people that run Borg warner turbo I no they not be the best but I am on some what of a budget but Its a work in progress not to say your not right but I sent Patrick g the cwm specs and he said It was a good turbo cam for taking it to 6600 or so. I want to push right about 14 pounds because of it being a 98 car.

They are inefficient and unreliable for a track car. Yea they will put down a good number but how long will it last before it blows? It seems like you your running a precision which is a quality turbo...........

It shouldn't matter if your building a LQ4 motor what the year of your car is. I would recommend a ball bearing turbo. And if you talked to pat they why would you need to start this thread, pat has a reputation for great cam specs. His word is all you needed.......

I talked to pat after I started this thread, you have your opinion on that style turbo and that cool but thats what I'm going with and threads not about the turbo its about the cam. I'm not talking about the year because motor I'm talking about the map on 98 and not being able to go over 14.7 or something like that.

It is a "good turbo cam" but what I am suggesting would be a "better turbo cam".

I run the Livernois Stage 2 cam 232/232 .595/.595 on a 114 straight up. If my turbo had a T6 1.15ish backhousing, i'd run a little more split to the exhaust port. This also depends on the intake to exh flow ratio of the heads being used. As it were, I would likely benefit from swapping a reverse split cam into mine as I think the T4 .96 really isn't enough exh housing for a 370ci motor.

The boost limitation is due to the PCM in the 98 cars. You can only run a 2 bar custom operating system. 99+ allows for more boost.

That said, I pushed my 98 pcm to 20 psi. Just tune the 215 kpa line in the VE table at whatever the max boost level that you intend to run is. With a 1:1 boost ref fuel pressure regulator, the fueling stays pretty close as long as your pump(s) an injs can keep up.
