Deja Vu. Forgive the non LSX build.

It's not that the motors hold them back from the mile completely, it's just expensive. Viper V10's are basically small blocks with 2 extra cylinders, just like them they don't rev really high, so time/speed spent in each gear is limited. You can build a solid roller high revving V10, but it's just expensive. If this motor ever pops, it'll get an LSX with a big turbo on it.

The deciding factor for me on the Viper v. C6 was the forged motor. C6 is lighter, newer, etc. Now I'm building a motor I'm a little bummed, but the fact that the stock tranny and diff can take some low 9 high 8 second passes, I'm better. Tough to beat the looks of a C6 Z0.

it sounds rediculous but has anyone thought of ls swappin a viper? i know it seems like a step back but i think the vipers being v10s is whats holding them back from being the mile record holders. maybe all someone needs to do is swap in a build ls7 or lsx or something and add alot of boost and hang on and i dont see why it wouldnt work. who knows maybe one day ls swapped vipers will be runnin the streets .
this thing oughta make some insane power and im ready to see this thing hit the streets already. id love to make it to tx2k11 to see this thing on the street but we will just have to see when it comes around

just out of curiousity how much is it costing you to build the motor?
you can pm me if you would not like to say it in public. just wondering how much it cost to build these motors as opposed to a 2jz or lsx to hit those figures

I'm doing the waiting game myself for the Camaro's engine. Perhaps after seeing how your build ends up. I might go down this road with my Viper. Maybe we can race next month in Houston. I plan on driving my Camaro some 800 miles there.
