i also pre ordered the Ball bearings that Warpnova ordered. sounds like a great option. and guy was great to talk to on the phone. seemed like he has been working at this for a while.
but can someone post a picture of the MSD Slim starter. i have one. and have it clocked but........ the only way i can get it to work is it has only one bolt holding it.
Wild Ta can you post up pictures. i see you have the APS stage two. is that the extreme kit?

(mods dont ban me. but fix this if i cant post the contact info. but for the record there is NO paying sponsor that sells Ball Bearing upgrade turbos. so i dont think this is breaking the rules)

I spoke with Forced Inductions and I can run a Turbonetics CHRA or a Garrett 3071 CHRA. The problem is cost. But compared to LG its almost the same and you get ball bearing. Im just not ready to shell out that coin right now. I got this kit on only about 3 months ago.

Thats what Jose told me. I spoke to him for about a half hour. If the APS turbos are in fact a version of the TD06-20G then the 3071R can work. You can either do some slight machining to the APS compressor housing or get a Garrett unit. They offer one that will work with the APS hoses. I believe its a 2.75" intake, the Garrett housing.

Its just the compressor housing that would need the machining. Not the turbine. Again this is what Jose told me and he was confident with his answers. Those guys manufacture parts for other turbo manufacturers so they can probably do almost anything.

I picked up a pair of Louis' LG style upgrade recently. He offers three different versions but all with journal bearings. The differences are in the inducer/exducer wheels. My new motor is a LQ9 370ci so I chose the middle ones. They should be good for around 900-950 flywheel hp and spool very fast for this cube motor. I'm still working on some transmission/clutch issues but it should be ready for a dyno tune soon. I'll let you know what I get to the rear wheel when all is said and done. That's good news on the development of the ball bearing turbos, I just couldn't wait, I think I'll be OK with these. I sure don't want to have to change out turbos again, too much work and too much money!
