Yeah no. Your info is wrong. Directly from my PM with him
EDIT: Completely for to ask how this was going xD OP this setup is still looking savage, hows it going?
hey,
regarding the transmission, it depends on what your power goals are. The T56 works well up to 900 RWHP or so, anymore than that and for me they just started failing just about 1/4 mile at a time... ripping the gears apart. I love the T56 and driving it thats why I went through so many before giving in to the pressure of the auto swap lol...
The car is a lot more reliable now with the TH400, and should run a crazy 1/4 mile time once the weather gets better, but I still wish I could drive it with the T56
there is NOTHING that can be done to a T56 to make it hold more power on the standard rebuilds offered out there because they don't change the gear set in the transmission. GFOrce gear set is one option, they are supposidly 30% stronger than stock, but I have heard of so many problems with it that I never tried it at about $5000 for the gearset alone, I wasn't about to throw that cash away.
that 900 RWHP it is up to you on what you prefer to drive and if you will be running 1/4 mile a lot or not. IF you're a track junky I would just go with the 4L80.
Thanks!
Tiago

Still have to weld the nut onto the plate but its close to being done. I now have an issue to deal with that'll set me back. I just had 2 of my T-56's stolen about a week ago. All in all its a load of bullshit and it actually was a member on here. He left my **** in the street and it got stolen. IMO he had a buddy grab them after they sat out for a bit (i was at work) so he can rebuild them and sell them. Sorry Elite I didn't realize you had a question or was looking for updates or I would have hadem for you.

Ok so nothing new on the transmissions. If I don't talk to him within the next day or so I'll be pursuing further legal actions. On another note I called procharger today with my serial number. Turns out, that my blower is the older 5:0.1 step up ratio. I think I might mail my blower in to them and have them upgrade the gearset to the 5:40.1 step up ratio to fight belt slip. I don't want to over look it and be pissed later on. It was also built in 02 so shes a little older and I have no clue on miles. I don't think new bearings/an inspection is a bad idea anyway. Any input? I think sometime down the road though I'll upgrade it to a F1-C (I guess you can upgrade it to any of the F1 series blowers).

I spoke to procharger over the phone and they said it would be around $450 to upgrade the gear set to a 5:40.1. I'll call and double check but that's the price I was told. That seems reasonable? Belt slip looks like it will be an issue with the old 5:0.1 ratio. Chevychad you said you have the older one as well correct? What do you think?

Ok I stand corrected. I don't know who misunderstood who but oh well lol. I guess I'll just need to get the aster bracket to get rid of belt slip. How do you guys think a 3.55blower with a 7.25 crank will do pertaining to boost levels and belt slip? (impeller speed@ 69K of 70K max)

The Aster bracket uses a 7.65 crank pulley, which is a better way to go. On my '99 Z28/408/AFR 225 heads at one time I had an F-1A, 7.65 crank pulley and a 3.90 blower pulley, I was getting 19 to 20 psi of boost with some belt slippage. I'm sure the Aster bracket would of increased the boost some. Bob

So my game plan is get the motor in the car with the blower as is. Once I get all the bugs worked out I'll get the aster bracket, upgrade my 60's to 80's from FCInjectors, FPR, -8 supply and a bunch of small stuff. Once I get my tax return I'll look at upgrading the blower to a F1C or F1R (1400ish I believe? lol) I'm only looking to run around 15-16 psi at the moment because I don't have a FPR or -8 supply yet. I do have twin 255's though. Should break 700 on 15ish psi though. Looking to run a mid 10 with the 6spd hopefully but I'm more concerned with my trap speed.

We'll that'll be enough to get me kicked out. lol. I don't have a cage so that wont last long. I'm worried about belt slip now though. I guess when I get it going and add Asters bracket we'll see how it does. I still think I'm going to upgrade the blower come tax time. I should be getting a nice bit back so I'm going to look at running a F1R then.

Motor still isn't in the car. Trans is at the 2nd guy's house to be rebuilt (Much better builder). I have almost all the small stuff I needed at this point. Only big thing I still need is the Aster bracket but I can wait for a good thing lol. It should be here within a couple of weeks. I also got a McLeod twin disc clutch to run later on as well (Free courtesy of CMS). Only bad thing is that I'm working 60hr work weeks and both sat and sun as well. 84hr weeks suck lol. Being a mechanic during the day doesn't leave much optimism for my free time haha I've never heard about the factory crimps? Are they a problem? I'll let you guys know as soon as I get my parts and stuff her back in her home lol. Idle videos first then hopefully some good dyno videos!!
