I also got a McLeod twin disc clutch to run later on as well (Free courtesy of CMS). Only bad thing is that I'm working 60hr work weeks and both sat and sun as well. 84hr weeks suck lol. Being a mechanic during the day doesn't leave much optimism for my free time haha I've never heard about the factory crimps? Are they a problem? I'll let you guys know as soon as I get my parts and stuff her back in her home lol. Idle videos first then hopefully some good dyno videos!!
The factory crimps (clamps) short lengths of rubber hose to hard pipe at both ends. Getting the assembly out with assembled engine in the car is a real pain in the ***. Remove the whole assembly now before putting the engine back in, cut the factory clamps with a cut-off wheel and replace the ends with same length hose from local shop. This will only cost you a few $$ versus a new assembly and give you peace of mind it won't blow later and roast your new expensive engine.

With the engine out, getting the hose assembly out is a 5 minute exercise, loosen clamps on heater core and remove one torx bolt on the hard pipe. With engine in the car, you will be taking a bunch of stuff apart and cussing the whole time. When GM put it together the first time, the engine was not yet there.

Well I painted my headders today (Not the ARH one's) Once I get the rest of my parts she'll go back together. Hopefully work will slow down just a bit once I'm ready lol

Well finally a bump being noteworthy. My alt. bracket got machined so its good to go now. I'm still waiting on syncros for the trans and then she'll go back together very shortly. Bob said the blower brackets should be on their way within a week or so. The only "big" thing I have left is to weld the nut on the plate we welded onto the motor. Basically I only have a few more parts to go and she can actually start going back together. Hopefully within the next week or so I can start stuffing that sucker back into the car, meanwhile I should be receiving my last few parts. I also need to send in my McLeod clutch in to get rebuilt, but I have a tex to use meanwhile. Hopefully I can give you guys some more updates and pics soon. We've been working A LOT of hours so fitting the car in my free time is rough lol

Well still working a lot but the blower bracket came in about a week ago. I should be getting my trans next week as it should be done soon. All I need to do is weld that nut and that should go down this weekend assuming I don't have to work the whole weekend (I know I know don't assume). Hopefully I should start making progress soon.

Ok I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel! Work is slowing down a bit, I should be picking up my trans this week or weekend and all that is left is to weld the nut and drill/tap the block. Break in time and tune are on the horizon! This build has attempted to kill me from the start! This **** better be worth it lol

Well its coming along nicely. I should have my camera in hand shortly so I can take better pics and vids. I need to redo a couple of small things and then she'll go to get tuned/dynoed. Does anyone know where I can get a female 3 pin connector that the 3bar map sensors use? My 3bar wasn't working and I had to use the one from my boost gauge. I hope with my pulley combo I should be in the 16psi neighborhood but I bought a few different sizes.

Ok so I have dyno results. I'll see if I can get a graph tomorrow. She made 663rwhp and 607rwtq on 13psi. Fuel pressure is dropping off to 40psi so I need to finish my fuel system. It made over 625 from 5500 up to 6700. All in all I'm pretty happy. There pretty decent numbers on a dyno dynamics dyno which has been known to be a little stingy...so only way to tell is to run her *** at the track....she pulls hard for sure though! My ultimate goal is to make high 700's on this dyno on 18+ psi so we'll see where that goes. All dynos are different but this one's a little conservative so I'm pretty happy! My buddy took vids so I'll post them when I get them. And now for the bad....the rear main seal is leaking so it looks like I'm pulling the trans tomorrow and fixing that lol
