Default Q trim or Ptrim

I am looking to buy a master power t76. The specs on the q trim are
810049-100 T-76 / Q-TRIM
HP 600-800
Compressor
A\R .72
A\R inlet 101.7
A\R Outlet 66.0
IND Wheel 76.5
EXD Wheel 103.5
Trim 55
BL 6
Turbine
A\R 1.00
inlet T4
V-BAND
DIVIDED
EXD wheel 67.0
Ind Wheel 74.0
trim 82
BL 10

The specs on the Ptrim
T-76 / P-TRIM 600-800
.72
101.7
66.0
76.5
103.5
55
6
.96
T4
V-BAND
UNDIVIDED
64.5
74.0
76
10

My question is which one would be better to buy?
Will the undivided .96 be better then the divided 1.00?
this will be going on a LS1 with 317 heads and e85. Later down the road will be a 6.0 iron block.

Q trim should be a larger turbine, I'd go that route with the undivided 96 over a divided 1.0

I don't think you can buy an MPT-76 q trim with an undivided .96.... yet. I believe all that's available for that turbo currently is the divided 1.00 but it works fine.

p trim is too small for a v8 unless you only plan on keeping the boost low like 5psi or running two of them. Even a Q trim is going to be too small if you want to run e85, too much exhaust volume. You need a good flowing exhaust side for E85.

What? I run a 70mm master power turbo with a garrett p trim and it flows just fine....10.29 at 8000da with 13lbs is pretty good to me.... Hopefully 9's by the end of the year when the da is down and a little more boost. I put the garrett p trim on in favor of the 3.5" exhaust exit instead of the 3".... Oh and i am on e85 too

+1

A p-trim measures 2.5 inches at the exaust "outlet"

Thats awsome! Thats strolen , but on the same note , just because "Its" doing a great job, doesnt mean that with a turbo upgrade , your car wont free up power and pick up some e.t.

Well congrats, but just because you are running those times doesn't mean it wouldn't be a lot better with a wheel/exhaust housing that flows better.

Exactly.

My friend 1320 ran low 10's on a 67mm rear mount p-trim, then the turbine wheel went shooting out the exhaust when the shaft failed. If you know you are going to run a setup that flows a lot of exhaust, why pick a turbo that will choke you when there are other options that will work much better.

You want to keep the back pressure as low as possible and running e85 makes it even more of a challenge. Look at the TC series or bigger and run a large exhaust housing, 0.96 at the bare minimum. I wish I had a T6 setup now that I'm on E85.

There is always something better than what you have out there. Its all what your budget allows for. I have less than $1500 into my turbo setup minus fuel and a tune. If it works why go overboard. With my setup, i am at the breaking point of a stock motor. When i break this motor or go to a built motor then i will look at a bigger turbo until then, it will keep what it has. Its just proof that a ptrim will work just fine. People get so caught up in what they read and not what actually works.
