IDEA! ATI Twin Intercooler question need advice.... Seeing that speed inc intercooler sale is making me think about a front mount but............since I already have two on the car and access to a wicked shop that does AWESOME tig welding..... Heres the idea not sure if its a good one, here it goes. Can I have my end tanks cut off and have the cores welded together and then have the end tanks welded on again to make a big front mount intercooler?
Just an idea, don't be too hard on me as I don't know if it's feasible or not

If you can do the welding yourself or you have a good hookup then it could be worthwile. But at the same time if you can pick up something like PSJ's intercooler for under 500 on GP I probably wouldn't bother

Good point Chris, If the GP looks like it will have 10+ orders I might just go that route. But I do have an excellent hook up on tig welding(Precision Fabrication to the locals). I will take the IC's to them to see what they will charge me.

I want PSJ's intercooler real bad, considering its $175 cheaper than if you were to buy it solo......but I don't have the dollars, I need to spend my money on my fuel setup first.........
That is a good idea you have though Jeremy.....
I just need to get the pulleys on, get my fuel right, dyno, and then maybe start tinkering some more in the fall.....I plan on driving my car this summer......(Hopefully)

All the TTI and QMP coolers are two cores side by side with end tanks welded on. Ive even seen 3 core coolers. I`ve got a local shop fabricating sheetmetal endtanks for mine right now there only charging me $225 so i don`t think yours would be much more then that.

Well I will be doing the ol chop and weld of these two that I have, the local place's tig welder said no problem with him doing it on the side for 300 total with pressure testing for leaks, he's going to fab up the tanks for me.

I would figure the difference between how much they are charging you to re-do yours and what you can sell your ICs for. Throw them on eBay and see if you can get the difference for yours and just buy the one you want, worst it will cost you is 10.00 or so for the listing fee

My ATI intercoolers with all connectors and tubing from s/c to plenum(plenum not included) was $1400.00 Now if I were to ask 900-1000 for all the hardware(IC's, tubing, connectors and plenum) people would laugh in my face, especially with the great intercooler GP going on right now. I was a Powerdyne convert, just like blackbird and Jrios. I would hope to sell the whole shebang to a PD convert but with the GP happening now, I myself wouldn't do it, and they probably wouldn't either. Plus if I bought a FM now for 560-600 I would still need to buy all the tubing and connectors to hook it all up, that would probably be another 150-200 bucks. 300+150 or 200 is @500 max for a do it yourself job, but I totally here you, don't think I am being stubborn, I am just broke after the cog/PCM tuning fiasco

If it were me since you have everything I would run it as is. See how it works if it got you to where you wanted to be with no problems great if not I would feed it to the fish before i gave it away for less than you think it is worth.
