ATI ProCharger on 427 10.5:1 compression
I have a 427 built on a C5-R block platform, running an S1 cam, 6.0 S-3 heads, LS-6 intake, ported TB,etc (currently 503 RWHP/509 RWTQ).. Obviously, the weak link is the top-end compared to what AFR, Fast, and the 90 mm tb's are going to be putting out. However, by the time I buy AFR 225 heads, LSX instake, and 90 mm TB, plus install. I could have the ATI ProCharger (4 psi kit) for the same money and add over 100 RWHP to my current set up...and since I would be pushing air the top end bottle neck is a mute issue...
Also, with 4 psi on 10.5:1 compression what gas will I need to run? Is there anything else I need to consider. This seems like a very safe and cost effective way to push air and eliminating the choked intake issue...please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Ron

What kind of internals do you have in your 427?
What are the specs on the S1?
This is by no means the ideal setup for FI, but I think it will work just fine if your CR is correct (assuming the heads were milled correctly to get 10.5:1). There are quite a few people running between 4-7# of boost on stock internal LS6 motors. The LS6 is also 10.5:1....The key is to get a good conservate tune with plenty of injector, and dont get greedy with the boost .

All you need is the tuning done right to run a Blower on 10.5-1..I'm in the process of doing a D1 on a 346 running 11-1 compression and have it run on pump gas..You just need to keep boost at a safe level, timing around 18-22 degree's and plenty of fuel.
