Default FI Motor

I am new to the LS and FI game. I have a 95 camaro with a 383 Forged LT1 and have decided to build a LS. I wanted to put up my part list and see if I have chosen the right parts. I should mention this will be for Twin 72mm turbo setup that Speed Inc. will be building me. I will be running this through a RPM stage 6 TR6060 6 speed, Spec Super Twin P trim clutch, and a S60 rear end. The car currently has just about every BMR suspension part available and QA1 coilovers front and rear. I should mention the car is mostly a street car and will see very little drag and road course racing. Any who here is my engine list.

ENGINE

GMPP LSX Iron Block Bare Includes:
- Cam Bearings
- Lifter Buckets
- Rear Engine Cover
- Cam Retainer Plate
Callies 4.000” Forged LS1 CCW Crankshaft 1850 Bob Weight
Oliver 6.125” Forged LS1 Billet Connecting Rods
Ross 4.125” Forged Piston 9.1 Compression
Total Seal AP Series 4.125” Nitrous/Boost Rings
Callies LS1 Billet Main Caps
ARP LS1 Main Studs
Clevite LS1Coated Main Bearings H Series
Clevite LS1 Coated Rod Bearing H Series
SLP HD Oil Pump
Moroso Oil Pan
- Pickup
- Remote Filter
Solid Roller Camshaft
ARP LS1 Cam Bolt Kit
JP LS2 Double Roller Timing Chain
LS2 Front Cover
Casper LS1 TO LS2/LS7 Cam and Knock Sensor Adapter Harness
LS2 Valley Cover
Cometic LSX 6 Bolt MLS Gasket .051” Both
All Pro LSW Cylinder Heads 6 Bolt per Cylinder 70cc Includes:
- ARP LSX 6 Bolt Head Studs
- Stainless 2.200” Intake/1.600” Exhaust Valves
- Solid Roller .700” Dual springs
- Comp Endure-X Solid Roller Lifters
- Comp 3/8” Hi-Tech Pushrods
- Jessel Shaft Mount Rockers
Precision Metal Craft Sheet Metal Intake Staged Injection
Nick Williams 102mm TB DBW
LS1 High Flow Fuel Rails
FAST 39# Injectors Set Of 8
FAST 85# Injectors Set Of 8

I should mention I am looking for thoughts on what I don't need or can add, what I can change, and what or if there is a better part option.

Jim and I are shooting for 1200 rwhp, but I was told those turbos could make upwards of 2000 hp if I fully unleash them. I also think I will be going with a Magnum crank instead of the dragonslayer. That way if I decide to unleash the turbos in the future I can do so and know the engine will hold up. One day this car will be my drag car, but that is after I buy and build up a 69 Camaro (Dream Car). Thanks for the comment. Keep them coming, I am really interested to see what the experienced FI guys think.

1200 hp will be near useless on the streets. Sounds like you picked some great parts though.

If your looking for big power later on then build it right the first time! I mean 1200rwhp is no freakin slouch, but 2000hp is ridiculous. 1200hp on that setup will just be tickling that motor if done right lol.

I realize this but like I said it will one day be a drag car. So I am building once and building for the future.

The dragonslayer and Magnum are the same strength wise. If you think you will turn it up someday, use the Callies CCW crank. When you start turning it up the non CCW crank will cause issues.

I have seen them and they are really nice looking cranks. I would not want to put a beautiful piece like that in my car, I would put it in a glass case as art work in my house. I also heard Bryant Racing makes awesome cranks that are CCW and are a little less pricier. It's an option I would have to think about. I am not looking at going over $25k on the motor and that crank would put me over, but to build it right it would be worth it.

The Callies and Bryant stuff are under 100.00 difference, both pieces are high quality that will work well.

I have not come up with a cam grind yet. Does anyone have an opinion on what I should run. It will be a solid roller and needs to be streetable for now.

I have decided to go with the CCW crank. But I still could use some help on a good solid roller street cam that will work well with this setup.

People put some time into getting the camshaft that does what they want with particular combos, best to work with your builder on this part as it relates to other parts of the build.

Yeah I know, I was just trying to get some guesstimation's as to what other people are running in their FI cars. Jim was thinking a 240/240 .588/.588 112 LSA.
