Default FWD 5.3 LS4 Turbo 11.01 @ 126MPH

Finally got my set up to the track. Car is a 2006 Monte Carlo SS FWD 5.3 LS4. Full weight, no reductions, looks totally stock except for lowering kit.

Baker Engineering "BEI" in Michigan built the 5.3 (TJ-HellbentS10) and did the SD tune on the car. Thanks TJ and BEI! I would recommend BEI to everyone on here. Top notch customer service and extensive time spent by TJ in helping me to get this set up right on and off the dyno. Unfortunately, the dyno just did not like the car, so we really didn't get any decent numbers on the dyno.

The BEI build: JE forged pistons (9:1), Callies Comp Star rods, BEI custom turbo cam grind, and just a little clean up and competition valve job on the heads (243's), Patriot Gold valve springs. Using an LS6 intake manifold, Speed Inc. fuel rails, 60lb injectors, and LS4 throttle body. Racetronix 255lph pump, Racetronix rewire kit, Kenne Bell boost a pump.

Cartuning out of Canada makes the turbo kit that I am using for the GM LS4 FWD application (www.cartuning.ca). Another great company that has gone far beyond my expectations on customer service and dedication, thanks Kevin! Turbo kit normally comes with a turbonetics HP66, but I am using a Turbonetics 76mm. Methanol injection, 2.5" intercooler/charge piping, 2.5" downpipe with cutout, stock manifolds.

Went to Milan Dragway today and ran a best of 11.01 @ 126.69 MPH with a 1.75 60 foot. 10's are there, just need to be able to get out of the hole harder with some better track conditions! I'm guessing the mph in the quarter puts the car somewhere around 600hp. Hope to post some 10's soon! Running at around 14.5lbs of boost.

Thanks!

Not much traction in 1st or 2nd on street tires at WOT , you have to ease into it. 3rd gear screams!

There's a few companies that make some heavy duty parts for the tranny. Tranny was built by Triple Edge Performance in Indiana. Dave at TEP (www.tripleedgeperformance.com) specializes in the GM FWD tranny. I have a hardened input shaft, Precision Industries 3000 rpm stall non-locking converter, GM Racing 1" drive chain, 12 clutch 3rd gear clutch pack, and some other internal work to it.

Nice run! I wouldn't expect that at all out of a FWD Monte.

Great job! It offers hope for my project. I'm hoping to get mine into low 12s - high 11s.

Are you guys serious? Torque steer occurs when the car is turning and the gas is pressed. The torque from the motor forces the car to plow straight instead of turning. How the **** would this be applicable in drag racing where you DON'T TURN?

To OP: Bad *** car for sure!!!

One wheel spins harder than the other one causing the steering wheel to want to turn

Equal length half-shafts help tremendously in reducing torque steer in these cars. I guess SuperCat has controlling it down pat. Mine is a beast under boost.

Have you ever driven a high hp fwd drive car? Obviously not.

What you described is not torque steer, it's under steer. Torque steer is caused by the front wheels fighting each other for traction. When one gets traction is has a tendency to steer the car in the opposite direction.

Don't come on here swearing and acting like an asshat when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Impressive numbers. I gather the trans is a 4T80E? Prolly alot more in it if you can get it to hook and hold. That torque steer description was funny as hell.
