Default Rings for Boost?

Car has been together for about a six months now and problems just keep coming up Complete new build and car has made ok power for not being turned all the way up but my question is what are most of you guys using for piston rings where you seeing anywhere from 18-24lbs of boost. When I built the engine the engine builder said the moly top would be ok for the 15-20lb set-up but most guys say to use the steel top for anything over 15. I think im having excessive blow-by and crankcase pressure from my rings already being shot with maybe 650 miles on it and one pass down the track but numerous dyno pulls.

You need a steel top ring for sure, no doubt about it.

we used the moly and hellfire rings for years with pretty good success on boosted applications-but they don't like the heat nearly as much as a steel top ring. The Wiseco GFX rings with the nitrided steel top ring or the Total Seal classic Steel top rings work extremely well in boosted applications.

i'm not saying that this is the case here, but most of the ls engines i have seen with blowby problems has been due to cylinder bore issues not ring issues. Most production machine shops seem to have problems honing the cylinders correctly-not sure exactly why, but most have out of round cylinders. I have fixed several of these built at other shops.

With my engine being 9.7.1 what should my compression be? Doing a compression check and wanting to know where I should be. Also when doing a leakdown test what % should I be at with 900 miles? I know its isnt going to be the same for all cars because theres different variables but at least will give me an idea.
