I dont know who DFX is but most aggressive single disk clutches will be like an on/off switch. I have a Textralia OZ and my friend has a Monster Stage 4, both are like this. Im either going to go to twin disk or switching to an auto, leaning towards auto...

You will never waste money with buying a twin disc over any single disc setup. I had a ceramic single disc and it was very jumpy and it finally broke itself. The disc itself broke where it rivets to the spring hub. I bought a twin disc for only a few hundred more than what I payed for the single disc. I like it a lot more. Just my $.02 worth.

DFX is a good clutch, but in a blown car i wound't even think of puting in a single disk, For a couple a bucks more, you can buy an ACT Twin disk T2S-G01 rated950 HP or
T1S-G01 850 HP both with organic disk material great street manners, for $890.00 shipped to your door, you will never have to worry abour your clutch again

At the old EPP shop we had a Spec Stage 3+ in a customer's 864 rwhp CTS-V. It's been in there for quite a few years now without any problems, as well as in quite a few other cars. The Spec 3+ is still a single disc, but it is a least half the price of most twin disc. The 3+ is a full face design so engagement is pretty smooth. Bob

the "puck" style single clutch discs are the ones that are really on/off.

I drove a Mcleod twin disk in my buddies 900rwhp+ turbo LS3 setup and it was like factory. Incredibly light pedal pressure and no grabby on/off symptoms. Rated at 1200 ft/lbs.

I would spend the extra coin and get a twin disc setup from a reputable manufacturer.

just killed a Spec 3, to be fair it had 25k. No track time but alot of Mexican mile action. Car was putting down 615/530 on a hot summer day, this cool weather helped w/ the boost and the clutch said "FU!!!"

Switching to a McLeod RST twin.

Default Spec Clutches

Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 2+ Stage 3 Stage 3+ Stage 4 Stage 5

SC091 SC092 SC093H SC093 SC093F SC094 SC095
599 690 782 832 967 832 1060

The Stage 3+ that I was referring to has a much higher torque capacity than the Stage 3, and is a full face design for much smoother engagement.

FYI... lol Bob

One thing i learned over the years with clutch companies
is they all and i mean all will tell you our clutch feels like stock or better then stock until you buy one.
(Spec and Monster are perfect axamples )
You know they are pulling your leg just so they can sell you one, there is know way you can have a single disk clutch to hold back over 650 HP-TRQ engine and have it feel like stock unless you go into a twin disk clutch.
(bottom line)
Ben there too many times with singles, went to a dubble and will never use a single again.
Sorry singles.

The aluminum will drop rpm faster between gears but will make it easier to stall when pulling out.

ACT Twin Disc T1S or T2S

The high HP vette guys seem to love them. Same clutch. My buddy is putting one in his car in a couple weeks. I also picked up one for my car for whenever it is drivable again, who knows. It's a nice looking piece.

I had a Textralia OZ700 that took a crap with a stock motor and boltons.
