Default Incon users...questions

if you had to install your incon kit all over again, what would you do differently or change. Any tips you remember. I will be installing one soon. The motor/tranny is out of the car. I am going to install it all into the subframe and then lower the car onto the subframe/motor/etc. The car I am putting it in is in the frame shop now. Hopefully I will be sliding it all in in the next month or two. I am going to look at getting air to the intercoolers while the car is TOTALLY apart.

Tubular K-member is all I can think of. Should have been part of the kit. Makes life so much easier. Just make sure when your lowering the car down onto the engine/trans/turbo. That you have enough clearance between the car and the manifolds. You may end up needing to massage a few areas. Especialy the passenger foot well and frame area.

Not the PA K-member, we learned that the hard way

The notching to clear the passenger turbo requires the use of a-arms w/ rod ends. But lowering the car over the engine w/ the turbos on works. Have done it a couple times.

harlan I can't find any info on the turbo set-up in the sig. When I go to your website it says you still have the icon

Is the turbo set-up in the sig a new one? Is that all custom and where can I look at some pics and info? Thanks

The sig is the new setup, all custom.

I haven't had time to update anything on it for the home page in a long time.

But there's a ton of pics here:

Warning, they are all straight off the camera and 1.8M to 2M in size.

Like Harlan said. The notch makes the pocket to small for stock arms. An expensive mod seeing how you have to buy arms also. But well worth it. Plus the kit adds 100lbs to the front of the car. So this will just help lighten it back up. Isn't this fun.

It really depends on how much they notch it. I would guess it is not enough if you can run the stock arms. You wouldn't have to get a new K-member. You might just have to have yours notched and recapped. Nothing difficult. The problem is that the passenger side turbo inlet is directly behind/on top of the rearward A-arm mount. You need the clearance to get the inlet tube on.

Apparently not. I know that Geoff (WhiteHawk) just sold his BMR k-member because it wont clear the incon kit he bought from Harlan. He said, though, that BMR has, or will have, a k-member for the twin application soon. It will be notched at the appropriate location.

thanks for that info. Also, I read where maybe some components could use some port matching. I am going to check that.
