Seems like many are running coated...
How does the coating on the bearings help?
Is it to protect for longevity or for keeping temps down?
I couldn't see a coating making them "stronger" so I was curious.

The OP is running a 6.0. Coated bearings reduce wear in the event that the bearing is starved of oil for a very short period of time. It's a little extra insurance. A small blip in oil pressure during a wheel stand or something of that nature would be what it is helping protect you from.

Conservative timing and boost is really just a measure of resistance into the motor. Stock heads don't flow so great, lol.

It is my understanding that the P bearings are for stock cranks and H are for aftermarket cranks and are not made for stockers. I cant remember the reason though.

you can use both "P" and "H" bearings on a stock crank but you can only use "H" bearings on an aftermarket crank.

I use OEM GM aluminum bearings. They have always held up really well for me but are way over priced.

How you get the idea they're junk? How many engines have you built run 8s on stock crank and P bearings, tore it down after 100 passes on kill, inspected the bearings, built it again with P bearings, back in the 8s for another 2 seasons?

H bearings are for crankshaft with radius fillet, stock crank does not have radius.
