What is the purpose of a boosta pump?

Default What is the purpose of a boosta pump?

I just purchased a used gto procharger kit.... im putting it in my 68 camaro and the kit cam with a boosta pump.. what is its purpose? my camaro has a cell tank and im running a single inline pump... thanks

a bap will add voltage to help the pump flow more. normally you would hook it up to a switch. in this case a hobbs switch so under boost it ups the voltage to the fuel pump. if you tjink you need a bap then you probally need a better fuel pump set up. ask around in the fuel section for help with your requierments.

boosts voltage to the fuel pump based on vacuum psi(like the guy said above aka hobbs switc)

Get you a nice inline pump and you wont need that BAP.

Yeah im discussing that with another guy. i was wanting to run a single large pump, but i was told i should go with a dual pumps.. also mind i need to run inline pumps bc im running a cell tank

A pair of 255L in-line Walbro pumps would work really well for your set-up.

SpeedInc sells them for $144.99 a piece and you could use AN fittings & braided lines. I think I bought mine from them.

I bought a set of in-tank pair for $110 a piece from online. People are gonna bash, but I bought them from ebay from a performance company (non sponsor)

How are those set up in the car... two pumps side by side .. starting with the cell tank running a single line y into two line and two pumps and y into one upto the regulartor

I would do intank but im running a cell tank.. so i need inline pumps
