Default SC car gearing

I'm running a 4.10 gear 4l60e car. Gear was in the rear is why I have it. Would switching to a higher ratio keep car in boost longer and be quicker? Trying to see what effects higher gears have on SC cars.

I wouldn't do more than 3.73's on a S/C car. I think 3.55's would be money. With the power you can make, you'll be out of your 1:1 before the traps.

I am actually stepping down from 3.73's to 3.08's soon because I have been running out of gear about 100-200 feet before the traps and I only have three gears so pedaling or bouncing off the limiter is all I can do. I would think that some 3.42's or 3.55's will work out for you really well.

Wow, that's a big jump down. What about just running a taller tire?

I am already running 27" tires and am also in need of some more streetability out of the car. I am also looking into the future for when I switch from my P1SC to an F1A. Right now cruising at 60-65mph is around 3200-3500 rpms.

Got it.

I just went to 4.10's with mine. Lot's of fun. It is a stick, and I make max boost very quickly.

My carrier is a 4 series so the highest I could go with it is 3.73 without buying new carrier.

Kind of depends on how much power you are making. If making less than 10#s I would run 3.73s. If a larger motor or more boost you would need a lower gear.

Also like others said tire size can help or hurt depending on size.

My Camaro had 370 gears with 28" tall tires, which was a good combination for track use running low nines. Bob
