locking the converter (some do it on the 1 -2 shift, others on the 2 - 3 shift) will gain you a little on your ET (.2-.4) and a bunch on your MPH but it is hell on the converter and trans parts. don't try it without a billet front cover on the converter with your potential TQ levels. GN guys do it all the time.

And yes, if it does frag the TQ clutch, then all the material will go into your trans.

I vote for Vigilante, by Precision Industries. I am using their 5-disc 9.5" lockup converter on my 4L80E. Guaranteed to handle 1000+ lb/ft under lockup at WOT.

had a vigilante single disk 3600 in my h/c/n2o set up... i was fairly happy with it....

if it has the potential to pick up that et and mph i would def. lock up my future TC lol, now just have to find a way to have it lock up automatically

ive got a full manual trans...dont know if theres a way i can still wire it up somehow, since the computer doesnt know whats going on with the trans i dont know how that would work

In order to launch with boost on the footbrake, you will have to get a much looser converter than if you had a transbrake.

I just purchased a precision, I was really impressed with their 5 year warrant they put on it. And that includes track use. They must feel pretty confident in their product.

I would say either you or the Ohio boys (they had a 4L80E into the 7's).
