Default Turbo prices...

Why does it seem like even new turbos that have been just taken out of the box still go for the original price or within $50? I mean its not new and does it still have any kind of warranty? Just a random thought....

I've been on the hunt for a TC76 or TC78 and it seems like even the used ones go for $900+....I can get a new one for $1000? Why bother with a used one is my question? Or am I missing something?

Thats kind of the beauty of buying a name brand turbo. Ask and see how many guys have had manufacturers defects. you wont find many. I have seen many tc76's go for 900 and 950. However t76's start at 1,289. If you hunt you can pick up a used tc76 for a few hundred cheaper.

I sold my TC76 for $800, which is a fair price for both buyer and seller. I bought a never used ST80 for $1000. The problem is a certain turbo will be what everyone is talking about and the price stays high. Recently there has been buzz about the TC76 & 78.

It just boggles my mind since it seems like everything else you buy around here is like half price of what it was new even if it was just taken out of the box. I'm guess I'm glad to hear that the TC units are holding their value because they are quality units but hows a guy supposed to get a deal! LOL

A turbo is always going to bring more then many of the aftermarket parts, they are a higher quality and can be rebuilt. Plus when you think about it there seems to only be a handful of turbos that are popular for our car which also keeps the prices up.

Check over on yellowbullet. Some smokin deals. I just picked up a brand new Precision PT76GTS w/ a coated exh housing for $850. People on that website list stuff to sell.. Different turbos are usually listed each day.
