If the combo is setup right you should be able to make somewhere 1000-1200hp @ 20# of boost.

Get a set of the tfs 220 as cast heads. They flow great and have the thick deck for a decent price. Brian Tooley is also doing a little cleanup work for not much money.

I've heard good things about these heads as well.

I wasn't talking about additional head bolts. I was talking about deck thickness as already addressed.

Also mentioned at higher boost levels. 900-1000 to the wheels seems to be when people start pushing water with the stock castings and no orings. I made an assumption in thinking that he would actually want to go there with a 390 and a 91mm. Guess that's kind of a stretch these days.

OK...flame suit on!

Sell the intake/TB, put the cash towards the heads and a used LS6 intake!

Dont need a flame suit ls6 is a proven intake lol.! To the op either way u go u are gonna pay. I ran those patriot stg3 heads on my reamount car and the highest hp I got was 813 hp 780 tq. I used them out the box with the springs and epp cam. I also ran 18 psi with meth and push no water. I had head studs and mls gaskest with copper spray. I did the same style of racing u are into. Its all in the tune imho. But to be on the safe side thicker deck heads or double oringing is a must in the 1.2 k range.

These are what my 390 with 91mm turbo setup is getting.

If you want to go cheap, L92 or LS3 heads are good. The LS3/L76 intake is a good combo for those heads as well.

I've always been under the impression l92s are weak at the deck?

I'm saving my $$ for a set of afr heads..

Like mentioned before the fast 102 isn't going to net you any considerable gains over other intakes in a boosted app, plus some people have issues with the intake leaking..

so a set of Tea stage 1.5 241's would not work well on a similar setup?

The idea that the FAST is worth nothing on a boosted application is COMPLETELY wrong. At 15 psi, it'll gain twice as much as it would gain NA. Can you throw an LS6 on and make the same power by turning up the boost a little? Sure but at the same boost level, the FAST could make 50-60 more rwhp. The bigger the cubes, the more you will benefit from the FAST.

I agree with that and plus this is a pump gas only motor so I figure the better the flow the less Ill have to boost it to make the power Im looking for.

I hate to tell you this, but that fancy FAST intake on bargain heads will make a lot less power and torque than some decently nice heads and an LS6 intake.

This is also correct. The solution is to get some good heads to go with the good everything else as the better the heads flow, the more the benefit from the intake.

I don't remember anyone showing any improvement going to a fast in a boosted app, then again that might be due to lack of flow on the head side.

Sorry not tryin to hijack
