Default 91 Z28 370/ST80/4l80E Build

Just thought I would start a build thread. Im going from a stock bottom end LQ4 (after it gave up #7),T76 Turbo, T56 to a forged 370,ST80 turbo and a 4L80E. The motor is an Lq4 block, stock crank, .030 wiseco -11cc dish, Eagle H beams, ARP head and main studs, mild ported and polished 317's, EPP blower cam, LS6 intake. The turbo is an ST80 from forced inductions T4, 80mm comp. 83mm turbine 1.25 A/R. The trans is a comp level 4l80Ewith a transbrake from CK performance, the converter is a 3200 multi disk lock up from Precision. Im going to make a new hot side for this set up, Im using a factory manifold on the driver side and will be making another log/header for the pass side. I got the motor back in last weekend but am just waiting on the turbo and the trans to get here to start on the turbo set up. Im looking for mid to low 10's and about 750 rwhp.

I've got a 530 RWHP GTO with a LS2 & T56 . My best on the Highway was 24.2MPG. I drove it 1200mile trip with no problems. I had a 04 GTO w/ LS1 6 speed and a big ol cam got 22.9MPG. Its all about keeping your foot out of it.

I've been waiting for you to start this build thread. Looks good!

My last set up was completely streetable, and this one should be just as much. MPG was never a concern but I still have 3.55 gears so im sure it wont be too bad, but like blownz28man said all you have to do is stay out of it. Thats whats awesome about a turbo.

Looks good so far! Keep up the good work! I'm interested in seeing Turbo placement as well, also the physical size of the Turbo. I'm doing a similar setup by with a stroked lq9 and 88 mm t6 Turbo in my iroc. Ill be doing custom headers tho. Any pics of the old setup? My old setup was a pt76gts on a 383 SBC, I've made the leap
to ls power now!

Im planing to mount it in about the same spot the 76 was in. I dont have the turbo in my hands yet but I know its pretty big, I hope I can get it to fit. I will get some pics of my old set up and try to get some new pics of whats done so far, just noticed how terrible they are.

Good luck with the build. There's an identical setup here in town, except it's in a foxbody, with a TH400, and stock 317s. Made 750 @ 15psi, pump gas.
