Default D1sc with pro flo valve need help

I have a trans am with ls1 and d1sc procharger. I'm running a front mount intercooler and have my pro flo surge valve right after the supercharger and just before the intercooler. Tuner said the surge valve doesn't seem to be working properly. The car is making boost so that's not the probelm but the problem is at idle or slight throttle. It seems like the surge valve isn't bypassing enough air at idle. I'm only boosting like 8.5 lbs of pressure. It as though the surge valve isn't bypassing enough air and from the force of the blower at idle the air is boucing off the throttle body and coming back and messing up the Mass air flow reading. In return the car smells to be running rich at idle and if the car is left idling long enough or just driving really easy at low rpm the check engine light comes on and the code reading is random missfire/excessive fuel. The pro flo surge valve is new. I just don't know what to do anymore to fix the problem. Please help, also wondering if anyone has ever seen this I haven't found anything on this.

Yes I believe the valve is open all the way. I'm pulling the car out of storage soon because i have some patriot gold valve springs i'm putting in soon. I just want this idle issue with my surge valve fixed though it drives me nuts. When idling i can feel tons of air coming out of the surge valve. I'll have to pop off the bumper and make sure it's opening up 100%. I called procharger and they didn't tell me too much about it.

is it installed the correct way? flow is supposed to go through one direction. also check to make sure you have a good vaccum source.

Correct. We always hooked up the vaccum to the hvac air conditioning line on the passenger side of the firewall, which we found to cause a lot less fluttering. Bob

The vacuum line is hooked up to the ls6 intake. I didn't know that the air is suppose to flow through the pro flow valve a certain way. What is the correct way for it to be installed and I can check to see if i have the air flowing through the surge valve correctly i didn't know it mattered.

Bob has a link on brute speed to the procharger instruction manual, look in there and it will show you. I think you should be able to see the screw head in the blade from the outlet but you need to look there and double check.

Well i found out the surge valve was on backwards flowing air the wrong way. I turned it around and let it idle for a while never had the engine light come on. Having my buddy with a scanner come over this weekend and make sure the maf is reading correctly. I really hope this fixes it i can't wait till spring to take this thing to the track. Thanks for the help.

There is no wrong direction for the ProFlo surge valve.

I didn't think so either but the directions clearly states to have the screw in the butterfly to go towards the inlet. Getting the scanner on it this weekend to make sure its better but it seems better now.

Keep in mind those directions are probably 7 or 8 years old and 3 versions of the ProFlo ago.
