fbody procharger belt slip fixed custom tensioner
So here we have a procharger j-bracket with a tensioner from a 91jimmy. very simple and didnt cost me a million dallars. we are using the procharger 7.6 crank pulley and a 4.25 blower pulley on an f1a. makes about 10lbs@5500rpm on a 417. i am so happy no more flippen belt slip. I can tell u right now that this tensioner has easily 3times the tension as a factory ls belt tensioner and so far this has worked flawlessly.

The only thing I don't like is you used a smooth pulley on the inside of the belt. Is it a stick or auto. I could see a stick car making the belt jump.
Other than that it looks exactly like the SDCE set up and I see you had to use the Vett water pump to clear the belt

its a stock bracket slot is still there. still uses same idler from procharger. Yes i am runnin a smooth pulley on the ribbed side of the belt. Would prabably be better with the correct ribbed pulley but so far no issues. Its an auto car so i dont drive like a mad man to much haha. Yup just used a vette water pump and pulley the pulley out just enough for the belt to run on it. The tensioner is like 48 dallars at autozone. belt was 50dallars. 3dallars for grade 8 bolts and washers. A drill bit and a tap. oh and used a shank lug nut as a spacer. this gives me something to put a wrench on to pull the tensioner back to release or install the belt. was thinkin of putting more idlers on the bottom jbracket stand and on the top jbracket stand but i wanted to see if this would first fix the problem. and it did so until it starts slippin im not ganna mess with a bunch of idlers and belt runnin everywhere

Plus one for making your own SDCE style bracket, though I would agree that a ribbed pulley should definitely be used on that side of the belt, but alignment becomes more critical.
That was always my concern with placing a spacer between a tensioner arm and the pulley. The tensioner bodies were not designed to handle that type of twisting load.
I hope this continues to work out well for you 1bad lad, and again thumbs up or taking an effort to fix the problem. I like the DIY spirit that springs up on here.

I know it not the prettiest thing but it does work. Yes i did notice it puts a little bit of a sideways twist on the tensioner but its not to bad. Again i have grade 8bolts and a lug nut as a spacer so the material is pretty strong. So i guess all i can do is run this for a while and see how long the tensioner and parts hold up. I am thinkin about ading some idlers to get more belt wrap. I suppose i do have the time as we still have snow and salt on the rds here in michigan.
