Holy ****!! Lucky to keep it off a wall! Strange it would break then and not on launch?

I am very fortunate! Most of the time when a shaft breaks on the big end it doesn't result in a controled stop.

All the u-joints are still in perfect shape. Looks like the rear weight flew off the driveshaft and it self destructed

As bad as the floor looks in the pix, I can actually bang it out and fix it pretty easy. I'm going to be welding in a much more robust front driveshaft loop anyhow. Considering mine got ripped out of the floor brace.

The damage to your car has me rethinking not installing 2 loops in my car.

Here is a video, can't see much on the top end. It was shot from a phone with no zoom.

Your project looking good! I called the driveshaft shop and they are building me a new one but 3.5" this time. I'm still left with the trans, shocks, and floor pan to buy and install though

No, I'm going to stick with the TH400. The suspension is working better than I thought.

I ended up having a 4" diameter drive shaft built for my Nova after adding the turbos. Years ago I grenaded my driveshaft on a chassis dyno and it did similar damage underneath the car and bellhousing. Get's your attention for sure.

On another note, after only driving a couple hundred street miles with the turbos I have already shelled the pinion gear in my 10-bolt differential. Working on a replacement now...

Yeah, that 10 bolt is not gonna be a happy camper with all that power. Are you going back with another or upgrading?
