Default Anyone ditch hood latch for hood pins

I really don't want to do this but I have no choice but to run pusher fans do to large turbo in front of balancer. Hood latch wont fit now either.

Who has done it? Any pics and which ones? Any risk of damaging a stock ws6 hood?

still has hood lock, but the secondary lever release is deleted. found many rings that come with the hood pins rust, so i got hair pins recently from home depot that are zinc coated and still look great

I bought a couple of the Aerocatch latches almost a year ago because I want to move everything forward a bit more to make room for maybe a bigger turbo and for some additional cooling but I just haven't gotten to it yet.

I'll be running these. MUCH better than a standard pin, and better looking than the aerocatch imo

it latches similar to a air compressor fitting, "clicks" in.

Thats badass, it would help me so much if I didnt have a hood latch that I may have to pull the trigger.

I have the aerolatch pins on my car. I bought the hood from Fireball who had isntalled regular pins due to safety concerns, so I just converted them over to the aerocatch ones.

Hey sprayed01, I was wondering the same thing. We built some brackets for the hood latch, but still makes me worried that it won't hold when doing a pass. We are going to look for something that can conceal around the latch as a secondary safety latch in case it gives way. Where abouts are you out of chicago? are you on TCG?

Here is an idea of how we bracketed the hood latch.

Im on the northwest side of chicago, right next to Niles and Park ridge. I wasnt really looking to do it due to being worried of the hood coming off. My main reason was i had to stand up the radiator and i dont have alot of room for trans cooler, condensor and fans. Life would be easier with the latch out of the way. Im sorry what is tcg?

This is why I went with flexalite low profile shrouded pullers. It was the only way to squeeze everything in, and yeah it's a squeeze.

Man, those quick latches are sweet looking and seem to work pretty well from the video...I'd have to paint mine if I got some though...I try to keep the bling under the hood
