Dude, it's too bad you can't edit the title of the thread, as it still says "142mph on junkyard 5.3".

I know it came with an 8.8, does it still have an 8.8? What spline are the axles? I'm about to completely copy your build and I weigh exactly the same.

It has a mustang 8.8 in it, it came with a 7.5" rear end as it's not a LTD LX car. It's moser 31 spline axles and trac loc as I got them cheap from a friend. Honestly with as soft as the car leaves I don't think I'd ever break a 28" spline axle with my setup, the 31's are just a nice extra security being as we race it in other cities 3+ hrs away.

142 is still the fastest the LTD has been on the jy 5.3, I'll be shooting for 9's and 150+ mph next year with the gf driving it. I'm actually switching it to a glide to make it easier for her to drive it as she'll be racing it most of the time. She went 10.7's at 132 with it turned way down her very first time ever racing at the track, on the street she's ran it on the 142mph setting without issues, we just put a soft timing curve in it so it's easier for her to drive. The glide should make it really easy and consistent for her and should be a great bike killer on the highway!

been following your threads for a while now. do you plan on staying with the 76 or going to a larger turbo on the ltd. and if so why?

154.7 on 18lbs, made 686rwhp, for comparison w/ the billet 76 on 24.5lbs it made 855rwhp and went 167.9mph

Call Dusty Bradford at PTC and let him spec it all for you

2600lbs with me in it, could definitely be a lot lighter if we ever make it more dedicated race car, but as it is currently it's setup to drive A LOT on the street.
Thanks for the insight Skinnies....

I think I'm gonna go with the PTE billet 76 from the get go.

Did you make 855whp on E85 with 80lb injectors? Just curious because the LSx guru's around here don't think that's possible. I make over 400whp on my 2.0L with 75lbers on E85 at 3bar base pressure.

Yes that is on 80lb injectors, lots of fuel pressure, 3 walbro pumps, 8an feed to regulator, 6an from regulator to rails, stock rails. Lots of guys say it isn't possible, but that is just because they haven't tried it, we've proved it on a few cars that it works.

thank you for this thread. it has re-inspired me and proven the nay-sayers wrong about my project. I am building a 68 c10 and doing the same setup, junkyard 5.3, 76mm turbo, but will be running a manual trans. my goal with it was to get into the 9's. with your car launching easy and weighing in at that much running 10.0's, I say it is a definite I can get 9's. my truck has a 12 bolt and the factory trailing arm suspension with some work done so hooking shouldn't be a problem, and should be in the 33-3400 lb range. great job! hope to see more from it

I need to get more pics/vids of it, but here is some from racing while I had it running. I turn the boost down and let the gf race some...

GF driving vs Justune's 5.3 76mm turbo truck...

GF driving vs Stangkilr's ls3/250 shot camaro

Probably my favorite race with the car, we traveled to another city about 2 1/2 hrs away, got a modded ford GT(600+ rwhp) to race us. We are rolling 4 deep, I'm driving, cutout is open, he took the hit even, lets just say he was pissed....

Running automagicls1's trans am, both of us turned down...

Messing with a wrx wagon(guy watched the car come out for a few weekends and was convinced it was na)...this is how bad we can slow the car down and sandbag it, lol

Funny joke, we told him we sprayed it, everyone thought I was spraying the car when I first brought it out and had a hidden nitrous kit on it because they couldn't find the nitrous kit under the hood.

Racing zephyr wagon, 351, t70, high 10 second car...

Running buddies ~800rwhp supra(I get the hit)...

I need to upload some other video I have of it, but this is truly one of the most fun cars I've built!

It's nice to see someone share my love for building really fast cars for less than most people pay for theirs stock!!!! It's even better when they dump another several thousand into them and your still faster!!! Nice work!!
