Carbon FIber valve covers do in fact leak, just as I was told many months ago. Unfortunately, I already had them for years. I ordered some aluminum covers to solve that issue. Also, I am going to vent the engine from the valley cover and I am adding a second oil separator canister. I hope that solves the oil blow by. If not, I will have to mjust go with one or two puke tanks. Of course, my one month old MSD starter motor went out while dealing with this so yet another delay. After I change the starter, swap the MSD boost solenoids (they were reversed thanks to a wrong wiring diagramn provided by MSD - well known issue per discussion on Yellowbullet), and fix CCV oil blow by issue, its back to the dyno to complete the tuning over and above the current 8 psi / 1000HP at flywheel mark. Decision is to stop at around 1500HP for now. I don't even have the roll cage to go faster than 8.5 and I have never been that fast anyway.

How hard was it to tune the 235 Moran injectors? How Do they idle ?

Here is what Allan Futral told me. The Moran injectors have horrible driveability and if I wanted to drive my car around, on and off the trailer, etc. I would need off the shelf injectors, such as Bosch 160 lb. He also said the 230 lb are way too big for where my boost is at right now and probably way too big unless I go to 30 psi. However, I pulled the plugs and they are not messed up from being too rich so I guess the tune is spot on. I wish I had a set of 160 lb injectors to use for now, but I just can't spend that kind of money right now so I will just have to not drive the car around. Basically, I will have to pull it up to the staging lane and start from there, which is not really what I wanted to do right now.

I am selling the injectors because my roll cage limits me to 8.5 anyway and it may be a while before I can afford to step it up. Also, the injectors may idle much better once I correct the three issues I had, one being a 3.5 bar map sensor with a BS3 when it requires a 3 bar. The other two issues being swapped solenoids on the MSD boost launch controller thanks to MSD having the directors wrong. The third being way too much oil coming through the crankcase vent setup. I want to change to 160 LB injectors for now, but I don;lt want to lose money on the Moran injectors. They are brand new. I bought them last year and have the receipt. I have only idled the car about 10 times and it was at the dynoa couple of weeks ago. If I can get what I paid for them or very close, I will sell them. Otherwise, I will either use them or set them aside for now. I am anxious to see what the car does with the corrrect map sensor in it. I now have a GM 3 bar map. I had an AEM 3.5 bar map, which is apparently unsupported by BS3. I am selling the AEM map snesor also.

I guess no one wants the injectors so the car is finished and ready to go back on the dyno with the 235 Morans. I will post some new pics of the crankcase vent with a 2 gallon catch can I built.

I had it tuned to 8 psi only becuase it was pushing too much oil from the valve covers through the vacuum pump / crankcase vent. I have since solved that issue by venting the crankcase from the valley cover and making a 2 gallon baffled catch can that eventually ends in a breather at the rear of the car. It made about 1000HP at the flywheel at 8 psi. I am ready to put it back on the dyno, but the tuner (Alan Futrol) cannot do it until after January 1st, which stinks.

Great. I will post some updated pics now and then some more tomorow regarding the new crankcase vent setup. I decided to run it through the 2 gallon tank first in case a piston ever blows and the boost enters the crankcase sending the oil out. That happened to Mike Brown and he flipped his car. I also terminated it all behind the rear wheels in the rear bumper for that same reason. I also have the EGT computer on each cylinder and if one overheats I get a red LED and a very loud alarm, which is a polaris low oil alarm made to hear out on the water. I hope that will save the engine and me if anything ever leans out.

And now that I am done with this car, I can turn my attention to completing my street car project. A little 500+ HP 4 cylinder wake up call for those V8 street rods I may happen to run across.

Nice! My buddy has an all original SVO as well. I never heard of them until he showed me it. Pretty unique ride. Definitely not a fan of the hood that comes on them

I have some more pics. These are of the new crankcase vent system, which consist of a 6061 aluminum valley cover with 12an vent baffled underneath and a 3 an vacuum gauge port. It goes to the vacuum pump then to this 2 gallon puke tank, then to the rear to this 1 quart vented tank.
