E85 or stick with pump gas?
E85 or stick with pump gas? Ive been thinking of switching over to E85. Procharged @15psi. Ive got the fuel system to support it. Car put down 780rwhp last time on the dyno in the summer. Ive got Lonnies dual pump system, lines, rails, etc., along with 95lb injectors. Just wanted some insight about it and would the swap be worth it. Thanks.
It would only make sense to switch over if you pullied up and were running above 20psi. Anything less and you can run pump gas and meth injection. E85 gets horrible mileage with FI cars/bikes. Ask me how I know...
My vote would be run it if it's readily available. I've been running E85 for several years on the street. Price wise it's about the same as running premium in my area when you take into account the decrease in mileage. You should be ok with your fuel system at your current boost level. I was running 96s at a base fuel pressure of 50 psi, and would see 80% duty cycle at 800 rwhp on E85 at 0.78 Lambda (11.5 afr on gas scale). If you turn the boost up any more you'll need some 120s and possibly more pump.
Jon @ FIC said that the 95s would support that power level on E85. I really dont drive the car around that much anymore so the mileage wouldnt really matter, plus I dont have a meth kit on the car. I really want to eventually put one on. Theres an E85 pump at the HEB a mile from my house, that is why I have been thinking about it.

I just switched my truck to E85 vs gas/meth and now run at 12psi what I ran before at 14psi. The power gain, and response is ridiculous. A local WRX picked up almost 100RWHP at 28psi switching from C16 to E85. Im at 6000' and the extra oxygen in the E85 is helping things more than it would down low, but the gain still has to be huge. I sure wish I could run my truck on E85 out in Ca...
If you don't get a good tune then ya your mileage will suck. 
E85 made my car seem more crisper. Haven't noticed lower intakes temps yet but i'm told they should drop. I was told 80# injecters should max out around 800hp on 85. Before I switched to 160's i was maxing my 80's out at 7-8psi with a base pressure of 60#.

What do y'all think dual walbro's and 92lbers at 58psi would be good for? Stock fuel lines.
Because it would be safer all while producing more power at the same boost level not to mention you could turn it up more? As long as finding E85 isn't an issue, you have the fuel system to support it, and you don't mind the mileage loss I see no reason not to especially on a boosted setup.
