i'll agree with that, with the added saying of this:
Just because its flat, doesnt mean its SQUARE and flat.
a belt sander can make it flat... but it would be pretty hard to keep it square when doing so.
The people that make the flanges for many shops in Houston area and nationwide put all of them on a big belt sander before going out and never have a problem! lol. It's not a big deal
