Need advise on what heads to go with!!!!
Ok guys I'm bout to finish my gathering of parts for my turbo build. I'm running a front mount turbo setup. The turbo I'm running is a mpt70 an ls6 cam and all the other necessary parts to do the job correctly. I still have the stock ls1 rotating assembly, my dilemma is should I stick with the 241's or get the 317's I'm planning on running 8-10 pounds of boost what do you guys suggest I'd do? Any advise would be appreciated thanks...

I would stick with the 241's and run meth.
I was all about having super low compression so i could run lots of boost. I bought a set of 317s and I had TEA open up the chamber's even more to drop the CR way down to 8.7:1, and out of boost the car was very sluggish. I did not like it. My next setup will be a 10:1 + meth motor.

stock 317 heads will bring an ls1 down to 9.5 compression, shouldnt be to sluggish. im in the middle of the same build, but wondering which turbo i will be satisfied with.
also your mpt70 should spool pretty quick, dont think youll have any issue with the sluggish feel...

So I should ditch the 241's and go with 317's I would just want this thing to "last" so I can get the rotating assembly in a few months how many lbs you guys recommend on 317's??? My goal is to be around high 400's low 500's

low 500 hp with that setup should be no problem on 8-10lbs of boost, given a lot of other factors. but a set of 317's should only cost around $150
although if your building a rotating assembly soon, save the money and run the stock longblock and pick up a decent set of heads later to match your build.
