Default Front bumper trimimg for FMIC

I'm installing a front mount intercooler on my '01 Z28 wondering how much do I need to trim off the front bumper for max airflow and still be able to mount a grill on it for example a billet or mesh grill.

This is how i cut mine. I taped my bumper with blue tape, placed my grill on the bumper then used the grill as a straight edge to draw the area i will be cutting out. Turned out great.

My signature pictures are just how mine are. They work fine and get plenty of air flow. I am sure the guys who did like the guy above get more than me, but I like the looks of mine better. My IAT on the black car never get high at all. but what ever you do will be fine.

Heres my setup. I don't like the look with every thing cut away.

You plan on putting a grill over that? I only ask cuz three giant hole-saw holes doesnt really seem anymore "pretty" IMO. They seem outta place since there are no other circular holes like that on the front of a camaro. Not trying to come off as a dick; read your build, rest of car and turbo build looks top notch; Id be proud to drive it no doubt. Just think there are more tasteful ways to open up that front grill area. Seems a more function over form approach was taken.

That pic with the dudes head in the bumper is hilarious....that needs to be a caption'd picture...

Mines in my signature picture. Just removed the ss insert from the bumper. It would look a lot better if it was still there imo, I don't have a way to comapare inlet temps on the two and what the difference is if any between the two.
