Sigh... Running low, medium and yes even "high" boost on a carb intake with an elbow does not mean you will blow up your engine. That is utter nonsense!! Is it "optimal No! Can you do things with that setup to compensate for the unequal air distribution? Yes! The answer is not always "just buy a purpose build boost intake." There are other things just as important as air distribution. Packaging is a big issue. Will the intake "fit." Cost is another issue for some of us. A lot of times that's the ultimate issue for me. If I can't build it, then I probably can't aford it. So before we all just give up and send $4000.00 or $5000.00 to some sheet metal intake builder and cut up our car to make it fit, lets exhaust all options, here and maybe someone will come up with a cost effective alternative to the pricy sheet metal Intakes.

Yep, 125mm. Uses a 5" v-band from any of the suppliers.

I agree with you 100% on the bold parts, which is why I still run a LS6 intake, and haven't upgraded my rails yet to really crank my set-up up more and my shortblock not being up to it.

I plan on purchasing SDPC's new sheetmetal intake manifold and rails when it becomes available for purchase. I think it has all the problems nailed down you mentioned and will be awesome for turbo apps like mine and high rpm n/a and n2o combos.

I got some data this past weekend...

even with some stuff done to help distribution on my super vic, I had two cylinders that had exhaust temps 100F hotter than the other 6...

I'll leave it at that

Oh, my bad. I thought your intake was setup coming through the firewall into the intake, 180 degrees from a 'typical' f-body setup.

Quick Reply: Best intake for forced induction...
