Default vette 50mm cog drive used in F-body

I don't have any accessories to mess with aside from the water pump and that can be switched to an electric if need be. Is there any reason I can't use something like Dallas Perfomance's cog set up in an F-body? Clearance is not a concern. Reason- I hate the regular f-body blower mounting position and I want to keep this simple.

I can't think of any reasons offhand, a lot of use have wondered if it would clear everything but I don't know if anyone has tried it. Bob

I may have to contact Taylor once I get the engine and transmission in the car. I'd love to be the guinea pig.

If you do it, let us know how it turns out. Bob

Always wondered too... From what I could come with, there would be some hood interference, maybe even some shock tower clearance concern, I think that depended on whose Vette set up you chose. The Dallas Performance stuff looks pretty nice. As pricy as the stuff was I didn't want to buy it just to experiment. Let us know how it comes out.

I'm in Afghanistan right now so it will be a while but I'll update this as soon as I get a chance to talk to them about it.

Build thread for the car is below so I'll keep this topic updated there. Currently all the pieces are on brown trucks to get the engine/transmission buttoned up. As soon as that's done I'm hoping Taylor can get it in down in Dallas and let the sparks fly.

We have the DP 50mm Cog Setup on a customers car. I did some measuring for you. From the tip of the inlet on the F2 to the outside of the cog pulley is 10.5 inches. I took that measurement to a fbody we have here at the shop and took that measurement to where the blower would mount on your fbody and if you are ok with cutting out your upper radiator support it will fit. The inlet of the F2 blower will be right up against the upper radiator support.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me or call.

Chris
