Sounds like a killer combo your putting together there. You running 6 bolt heads? What power are you hoping to make?

No the AFR head are 4 bolt heads. I had AES to modify them to take a 1/2" head bolt. I know this will probably be weak link in this build. I know I will push water some time with it like this when I really start to push it hard. I will probably end up going to a 6 bolt head later on. Just not right now. I have been told anywhere from a 1000HP to 1300HP.

Thanks. I have not really looked into it that much. Right now I just want to get it all done and play a little with it. Get use to how she comes of the line and the power. This will be the fastest car I have driven. So it's going to take some getting use to.

man...I sure hope that turbo doesn't choke you too bad...the turbine the 47/88 is pretty small, especially for a 400+" motor

Note that is not my intake. AES is getting ready to test run it. Fraser is going to video it and post it up on here when he is done.

Does the turbine housing A/R size make a difference? It has a 1.23 turbine housing on it.

it can help, but the turbine is just too small really. You can help it more by converting the exhaust side to a GT55 (has a bigger turbine). It will make power, but you'll choke out on the exhaust way before you reach the peak on the compressor.

thats why most don't recommend the gt47/88 for engines bigger than 360ish"

Ok thanks Fireball I will look into changing it to the GT55 then. Have any idea of what that might cost to do it?

Sounds like a nice combo!

I am looking at a turbo around the same size for my 364/370 build. Haven't decided on a C.I. size exactly, I'm gonna match it to the turbo I run eventually.

Although seeing that 365/76GTS thread yesterday got me thinking about keeping my turbo, only time will tell!

That is what I did with the GT47. Today was the first time I had ever heard anything about the turbine might be to small for the engine. I will find out about it tho. But this car is going to be drove on the street more than at the trace. I don't want the turbo to be to big and not have as good of driver ability on the street. . But who knows the GT47 might end up for sale.

the backpressure will be higher. I just did some digging on turbomustangs and found an post where a 360" motor saw 60psi of backpressure at 21psi boost with a GT47...nearly 3:1. thats ALOT. it will only get worse with a bigger motor.

Well I just got back from KY-Turbo! I took my car and all my parts to Josh so he could get started on installing things. Motor is to be deliverd to him. Josh is one of the coolest ppl you will ever meet or do business with. I cant wait for the first time hearing it and all the finshed work. This has been a long time a coming for me.
