Default Need help with 408ci turbo build...

Okay guys, im building a 95 z28 and I just picked up a 408 block. Im shooting for 1000whp and need some help. Im new to turbos so help me out as much as you can. I will be getting a PT88 for the boost. I have a th400 that will be going with it. This will be a street/strip car just to go out and have fun. To get that 1000whp range, what are some things will help me get to where I want it:

Bottom end- crank,rods,pistons etc etc
Heads? Intake? Fuel system? Ignition? Tuneing programs? All the nessacary needs to get me to that mark!
Please feel free to give as much input and possible! Thanks in advanced, Jeff.

yes...it can handle 1250 hp but on a smaller engine. big engine = big backpressure which will limit potential power.

I don't plan on running in heads up classes. Its going to be more of a street car anyways. If I were building it for a heads up class like x275 or ols it would be a different story lol

has nothing to do with heads up. 1000whp = 1100-1200 crank. I don't think the turbine is gonna get you there

Why do people ask for help and when they get it are complaining about what they are hearing?!

Im not complaining at all? Im just saying im being told by numerous people that an 88 will be just fine. I don't know why an 88 wouldn't get to that goal, when guys are going mid to low 5's in the 8th with an 88mm. Im not complaining at all, so don't get that judgment that I am.

I started this thread to ask for some help, and im going to see what other people say about it.

It's that when your backpressure is so high that you can crank the boost all you want but you wont get any results. It's like hitting a wall, of backpressure really. You have to open the turbine size up to allow it breathe deeper. Yes a 88 will make 1250 on a 346 or 365 370 max.

I wouldn't go past 370 with a PT88, now a S88 is different as I was enlightened to the other day.

I looked for the same answers, but didnt really find any cut and dry facts. I talked to Jose at forcedinductions.com and he recommended a GT91 for 1000whp goals on a 408. Now I'm questioning my decision of going with a 91mm 1.08 housing, instead of the 94mm turbine. We shall see. Good luck to the OP, post some pics up of your progress. I love seeing these turbo builds.
