Default turbo cam size

After searching online for hours and calling performance stores here in vancouver bc i have no luck. Anyway i'm in the process of twin turbo' my 98 ls1 f body (got two turbos next to nothing) Engine is 100% stock. I plan to run 6-7 pounds of boost. Today i was taking the timing cover off to run the return fittings and my timing chain is slack as hell. I was going to change it and now i wanna put a cam. My goal is to hit 500ish rwhp. With that said i plan to put a 255 lph pump, fast/holley intake #42 injectors and meth injection to keep the temps down. Dont wanna go as far as putting heads. What do u guys recommend? im leaning toward an off the shelf cam so theres no hassle. Thx in advance guys!

My friend has that gt2-3 in his T/A and it sounds almost exactly like the stock one at idle. I kinda want something that jumps a bit at idle

I've done a ton of research and I've kinda concluded with most street setups the cam choice is not super critical. Pick a cam based on your needs, driveability, idle sound etc. There are benefits to running a custom specced turbo cam for race applications where you are not limited by the turbo. When you are trying to push 1000-2500 hp with a huge turbo and spooling the thing quick enough is your main concern than you will have a dedicated engine built around your setup.

Most street setups don't have a problem spooling properly sized turbo(s) with the cubes a v8 LS motor has.

The speedinc TU1 is proven 225/225 113 http://www.speedinc.com/manu.cfm

Here is another great off the shelf comp cam 227/224 115

Twin turbos deserve a cam built for the job. Get Pat G. to spec you one. It won't cost any more than an off the shelf cam and you'll like it a whole lot more.

The cam in bold is the one I run only on a 114 it's a awesome cam enough idle to know it is cam'd and screams at WOT up to 6700 easily. The Speed Inc cam is an awesome proven cam also.
